Mr. Richard,

I am Violeta Motta, we talked briefly around 1pm today regarding the incident that happened today with Mercedes. I entered the cafeteria at 1pm like always, I wanted to buy turkey slices. When I started to grab my first piece of turkey with the tong that is set out to use, Mercedes told me in an angry manner, “Don't grab the turkey slices, (when I pick out turkey slices, I usually pick the smallest and thinnest piece, Mercedes doesn't like this), you don't have to make the turkey into little pieces”. I showed her the container I had my turkey in, so she could see it wasn't sliced into pieces and I told her, “look its not into little pieces, you can see. Look before you speak what isn't true. I didn't make a scene since we were in public. I followed by getting another turkey slice, and she got very angry and pointed her finger at me and downed me as

She looked and spoke to me in a very angry and hateful way, I felt very bad and looked down on, because of her attitude with me. (When I get my food in the cafeteria I am no longer an AMB worker, but I am a costumer buying your food). It felt bad being treated in such low matter. This isn't the first time that Mercedes has had a bad attitude towards me. It has been several times. In mid August, my daughters came to have lunch with me. My oldest daughter, Melanie wanted to have a burger. She asked how to fill out the paper and what each section meant, Mercedes told her to read and she will find out on her own. My daughter came to me and was confused on how to order a burger on how she wanted, she went over to Mercedes again to ask for directions and Mercedes responded with “do you not know how to read it says to fill out on the paper”. When that happened a worker that works on floor 4, Wendy came over and she saw when Mercedes was giving Melanie an attitude. Wendy responded and said that Mercedes tends to have an attitude to costumers and that's why Wendy does not buy burgers as frequently

Several years ago, when I was a brand new nurse’s aide, I had an experience with a dying patient that changed my perspective completely. Lewis backs up his next point of believing that customers are often guilted or felt obligated to tip, when they may not have wanted to or even needed to, by providing the example of customers who may think that a workers salary is figured by assuming they are provided with tips while working. Although this example may be true to some readers, Lewis does not include any facts to build logos in his essay nor quotes from any resources or people pertaining to his argument. He includes how cabdrivers could be intimidating when expecting a tip and assuming it will be at least fifteen percent. This example again could relate to a variety of readers and therefore builds good pathos, but is not supported with any evidence or factual information to back up his claim. A concrete example which helps Lewis’s argument is the sign he claims to have read in the back of a cab which said, “Tipping is customary” (21).…

Sue Rodriguez wanted to commit suicide in order to spare her family the agony of caring for her as her amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) worsened. She also wasn’t willing to accept living through the indignity that the final stages of the disease would causer her, and would much rather die peacefully and with self – worth, via physician assisted suicide. However, this particular case became problematic due to Canadian laws that were impeding her from fulfilling her death wish. She continued cursing, not at me but my father. When I was done bagging her items she started telling me how I am really good at my job and was trying to belittle my dad by comparing me to him, I smiled and right before she was about to leave I said “Thanks, but the reason why I am so good at my job is because of the man you disrespected for a good 20 minutes, my dad, who has taught me everything, but have a great day, see you again.” She slid in a few more swear words, directed at me this time and left. That was one of the first times I had seen what happens to people of color or a minority group, and it happened to my father almost daily and he has become immune to it, but since that day I have been traumatized by how low people can stoop to belittle people of different views and beliefs. Also since that day I realized how much racial discrimination can hurt and affect someone, similar to in the story how the all the races hated each other, also just…

I became very quiet, because for the first time ever, I thought I needed to be careful about saying anything because I did not want to reinforce her profane and aggressive behavior. Nevertheless, despite my lack of participation in her verbal abuse, when we got out of the car and walked into the restaurant, she spotted the people from the other car and began to talk about them in a loud voice. It was a couple and their two children, and because they had dark complexions, Kelly actually referred to them using a racial slur, "greasy Mexicans", which shocked me to no end. It was not clear that the family was from Mexico, nor did they appear to be anything resembling a term like "greasy." Because I was in shock, I said very little, but unfortunately this only seemed to encourage Kelly to take the matter on for the both of…
