After finding a dance class and contemplating for a long while, I finally gathered up courage to try it. The short interview with Lauren Anderson is so inspiring that gives me an insight into passion and success as well as motivates me to persist in following my dream. Anderson’s story of her career as a principal ballerina seems quite simple and typical as she started early at seven, soon became a principal dancer of Houston Ballet, and then now is giving back to the society by teaching ballet to children of “underserved” community. However, I believe behind that story are all strenuous efforts and untiring perseverance along with her outstanding talent that kept her lifelong dream alive and made it come true. I can feel in her a great passion for the ballet career in every word she said and every story she told. Because ballet is hard and highly…

The school auditorium is filled with proud parents and the glow of several hundred screens poised to capture the moment their precious stars take the stage. The music starts and a dozen little girls and boys start twirling and craning their necks to watch their dance instructor coach them from the wings. Most of their parents aren't concerned with the dance training their children are receiving. A friend of a friend told them about "Dolly Dinkle's Dance Academy" and so they signed little Susie up,bought her a pink leotard, and told her to have fun at dance class. However, "Dolly Dinkle" is not a qualified dance instructor.…

Simply put, I love dancing. I like moving my hips to the beat, feeling the rhythm inside my body like an electrical surge, enjoying every second of the music. Years have passed since I first started dancing, but I still have the same enthusiasm as if I am performing for the very first time whenever I hear a song that I danced to. Yet, dancing can be exceptionally intimidating and challenging, so much that I question my rationality at times.…

During my freshman and sophomore years of high school, I was a dancer at a local studio and at Arts and Communications Magnet Academy (ACMA). I had a fun time dancing, I met a lot of great friends and I was able to express myself through art. But, dancing and attending ACMA was also something I regret doing. I met someone who hurt me in ways I didn’t expect and put me through situations I never thought I would be in. I definitely wish that what this person did had not ever happened, but I can find the silver lining and be thankful for some of the ways I was forced to grow during and after those experiences.…
