Personal Narrative Analysis

This year has made me a stronger person than I was last year. Last year I was very suicidal and I went to counseling. Over the past year I’ve gotten over the grudges that I have been holding onto for awhile, and as a result I’ve been thinking more positively this year. I was told by my father that if you make yourself more productive, time seems to go by faster. I didn’t listen to him so I learned the hard way. Ultimately I became a happier person mentally. It took me awhile to get here, but it finally happened. I personally never thought that I would get over depression but it’s gone for now and I feel great. Last year I spent too much time worrying about the future whereas now I’m living in the present and conquering the days as they go by.

Next year I am aiming to go up 1 level for reading math and writing so I want to reach 6A in math and right now my highest mark has been a 5A. Next year it is important that I get better at managing my time because this year I have handed assignments in at the last minute or over the due date and next year…

As a military child, I left the United States with my family at the age of five and spent eight years living overseas at duty stations in Japan, Germany, and Italy. We traveled extensively during vacations to over 20 different countries. As a result, I claim proficiency in ordering french fries and apple juice in several different languages. Although moving has brought me some misfortune, and many people would say that living overseas qualifies as adversity, I never felt it was such.…

A.I believe the most challenging aspect of working in protective services would be not letting your career consume you physically and mentally. Beginning junior year, I occupied myself with the most constructive investment in my life. My daily routine was bland, but oddly hailed as the ultimate path to victory. I was learning in school, but the learning lacked meaning. Plot lines and mathematical formulas were unavailing ideas, which I tepidly regurgitated. I concluded that a life permeated with monotonous toil was not worth celebrating on my day of judgment.…

Technology has developed so much over the years that we have relied on it so much. Technology is used in pretty much everything we use nowadays. Living in a neighborhood was the greatest advantage, but having kids the same age as I was even better. There was never a time we weren't outside: rain, shine, snow, miserably cold, or even scorchingly hot. There was 4 of us: 3 girls and 1 guy, all around the same age.…

Fall of 2010 and spring of 2012 were the 2 semesters I was inactive after graduating from the University of San Diego. In the fall of 2010 I was acclimating to a life back in Los Angeles and actively looking for a position where I was serving others. I secured a tutoring position in an underserved community for students in grades k thru 12 in the areas of math, science, and English for a startup tutoring company called 1 On 1 Academic Tutors. My greatest competitive advantage became my hunger to succeed and to actualize the life that my parents envisioned for me when they migrated from Mexico. Within the year, I was promoted to Senior Contract Administrator and by fall of 2012 I was creating spreadsheets alongside graphs and analyzing them…

Over the duration of my senior summer I was allowed to experience many wonders as I transitioned out of one segment of my life to a new one; however, possibly to greatest experience out of the entire time period of my summer was my family's trip to six flags. We began planning for the trip months in advance saving money, gathering supplies, and making reservations. We toiled through this segment of planing making sure that all of the details of the trip would be perfect. Once all of our details were lined up ducks in a row and bags packed as if we were to stay for a month, we began travel on the an interstate that was as busy as an ant nest just before winter, as in when they begin to store food, but I digress we weaved through the traffic,…

As I confidently walked into the DMV, I firmly handed over my paperwork to the employee. I announced, “I have a ten o’clock appointment for Olivia Sestito.” The short time in which I waited for my name to be called, my body overturned with a strong nervous feeling. A few prolonged minutes later, I hopped back into my car and pulled up to the side of the building to attempt my second driving test. The instructor walked over to my side and signaled me to roll my window down after she examined my car.…

Life can be: harsh, cruel, unforgiving, troublesome; you could change that one word to any other adjective and deep down you could still feel that everything is unfair. To some that feeling is a weight that can drag you down and drown you from the inside out. Life isn't good to everyone and it's certainly not going to be fair all the time, it's an unknown concept. Some people think that when life drags them down, and they suffer with their emotions and their thoughts and their hearts at night that they're weak, because they can't survive. But no armor came out of a battle unscathed, because scratches, dents, and deformations showed strength in time.…

As a middle schooler nothing was better than the relief of stepping of the bus on a Friday afternoon free of homework free of worries. Walking down the street towards my house realization came upon me when reality caught up with what was happening. I approached our driveway the moving truck was being loaded my mom and dad home from work early and waiting there in the drive with a look on their faces like they had to explain how they killed someone. Almost as it was nothing they both explained the plan for the upcoming week. Anxiety, confusion and other emotions filled my mind as I started to pack.…
