Once upon a time, I was a little girl. Just seven years old. Off on a new adventure to a new school, wondering if I would make friends. Or if they would already have friends. Or if my teachers would like me. And all of those were true. I made friends and lost friends, and some moved away. Like Zoe White in fifth grade. She has moved to California, but this year, she moved to Wilmington. I hope to see her for the first time in three years soon. I started at Magellan as a quiet child who did not like to dive into new things. I remember my first day of third grade. I had met the teachers and a couple of the students already. But I was still worried. The day went well. I had a blast! I couldn't wait until the next day. I remember …show more content…
That summer, five people moved and six people came in to sixth grade. Mrs. Duffus was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. Maybe the best. She helped me with science, took action when it was needed, and finally got me to stop being bullied by one person. The solar system project was a really cool thing to see. In Mrs. Harp’s class, studying Greek and Medieval times were the best! Those are my two favorite time periods, and Greek day was amazing. Mrs. Regan was so much fun and doing all the hands on things were a great experience, including making pretzels. Mrs. Sutton and the Decimal to percent song is something I’ll never forget. Two people left and we got one new person in seventh grade. In seventh grade, we had Mrs. White for her first year here. She was an amazing teacher and studying World War II was a lot more interesting because we got to move around a lot and did so much hands on stuff in her class. My favorite thing we did in Mrs. White's class was doing Batiks with Mrs. Newell. Mrs. Blewett taught us once again, and we had a great time with Stop Hunger Now and Read to Feed. Mr. Harp gave us silly projects like doing skits for genetic diseases. I remember everyone groaning when

There were so many students, I honestly did not know who to be friends with and who not to be friends with. As the first week of school passed I quickly found out who you do not want to be friends with unless you wanted to get in trouble. A few weeks into the first nine weeks of school, there was a girl ( who happens to be my best friend now) and she was reading Harry Potter which I happened to be reading as well. We soon became friends, then best friends because we have so much in common. August and Jack along with Summer are like my best friend and I.…

I remember the day before my first day at Pennoyer. I was sad and happy, scared, and mad all at the same time. I remember crying and yelling at my parents to not make me go to school that next day. The next day I showed up at school and remember walking into Mrs. Michael’s third grade class and seeing all of these new people that I would be friends with for years to come. At this school is where I made new friends, great memories, and where I grew up from a little kid into a young adult.…

I remember first grade with Mrs. Everheart. During that time, I had two of the best friends, that I have ever had: Ruchie and Chase. We lived in Guymon, Oklahoma, and took karate at the YMCA. Every day after school, we went to Chase’s grandparent’s house to play. I have so many fun memories with those two, but it was short lived.…

Hundreds of children talking all at once, that’s what morning at Illini Elementary School sounded like. And there I sat having no one to talk to. Until one day a new girl came through the school doors. She was as tall as a giant and had short black box braids. This girl sat down by all the other children in my grade.…

I have got to known all 50 of my fellow classmates over these years, some more than others, but I will always remember them all for having such a large impact on my life. I still remember the first day when we all met as we walked into Mrs. Sette’s kindergarten classroom. As I entered I noticed a girl in the corner of the room by herself crying by the name of Alex. I approached her to ask her what was wrong and she told me about how she missed her mom. I sat down next to her and she became the first friend I ever made in this school.…

Have you ever felt that life is literally too short or that every event in your life went by so quickly? My seventh grade year was like that. Back in fifth grade, I was always nervous about going to the other side of the school building. Whether it was the snicky sock smell of the hallways, the height of the eighth grade boys, or just scary bumping into one of the teachers, that was scary. At the end of sixth grade, I was terrified about what was coming.…

When I wrote this essay I was in my new home, my door room. I often refer to my dorm as my house, which my friends despise but I do it anyways. I always say “Want to come over to my house?”. Writing this essay in my new house allowed me to reflect back to my old house in Rotterdam. The physical setting that I was in made me feel extremely nostalgic for my old room at home that I shared with my little sister.…

My homeroom teacher was Mrs. Decker who taught Math and Science, Mrs. Burke was my other teacher who taught English Language Arts and Social Studies, and both of my teachers were very fun and funny. My teacher Mrs. Decker moved down the road from my house that year too, and it was so cool to have my teacher live down the road from me. In 5th grade we also had enrichment, which is where every grading period you would choose an activity to do every Friday. In enrichment I did Recycling with Mrs. Decker twice, Shutterfly with Mrs. Burke, and cooking with Mrs.…

Faith is something that I learned from my own life lessons. Faith to me means many things. The first thing that comes to mind when I remind myself of faith when i’m feeling down, is going to church. I learned to have faith in God by how my parents taught me, but the real lesson I have is from teaching myself. I learned from my mistakes.…

For many years I have been very indecisive about my direction in life; I often dreamed of residing in faraway places, living the unrealistic rich lifestyle and for everything I’ve ever wanted to run completely the way I desired it to without the difficulty of overcoming any obstacles. I come from a family who has bigger and brighter dreams for the children of future generations. Family has always been one of the most important values in my life. Leaving them behind to focus on myself seemed very selfish and stressed me out. My junior year of high school I had a very vague idea of what I wanted to do with my life.…
