We were in the classroom. Then I turned into a cotton candy bush. I was teleported into a game called fortnite. But not exactly the actual game. It was awesome because I had donuts when I started.

The land looked like a farm and towns all over. Lots of big trees and some cliffs. Also it has some bushes. The style of it is a smooth look. The people on my island are Will, Cashel, Ninja, and Bryce. The most awesome thing was we won the game without a gun or a shovel. The biggest problem was the storm.

We all spend time building and running around. We all went to a tree and got some wood. Then we built a huge fort. We ran around and raced. We saw a person so we ran to him and got all of his resources.

Our cabin was two to three stories tall, it was massive but big enough to house all of us. We made catapults and opened the windows and put the rocks in the catapult's with boiling water as hot as we could get the water the better. We made bows and arrows to shoot at them off the roof like snipers without rifles. We were all scared to go out of the house but we had too, we dug trenches and holes and covered them up with grasses bamboo poles and sticks. We were using strategies that no other humans thought was…

In many ways, individuals often struggle against their fears. The time I experienced this was when I used to ride steers a couple summers ago. It was a hot July day and my dad and I had just finished helping my Rodeo queen sister get ready for carrying flags to start off the rodeo. After when we walked over to the stands to get ready for their riding, I was gearing up to ride one of those beasts they call steers, thinking I was going to get killed.…

Technology has developed so much over the years that we have relied on it so much. Technology is used in pretty much everything we use nowadays. Living in a neighborhood was the greatest advantage, but having kids the same age as I was even better. There was never a time we weren't outside: rain, shine, snow, miserably cold, or even scorchingly hot. There was 4 of us: 3 girls and 1 guy, all around the same age.…

“Mia can you go walk A field and the corral?” my supervisor asked over the walkie-talkie as I finished bringing in fifteen excited dogs from group play. By this point I had already walked more than a dozen dogs, fed half the kennel, and taken out over a hundred dogs for one of their daily outings. I was exhausted and now I had to pick up a field full of dog feces.…

On the sixth of May, in nineteen ninety eight, there was a major change in my family. That change was a baby named Tyler. I haven’t been around for very long, but I have witnessed many things. In my 17 years, I have witnessed the fall of the twin towers, the election of the first African American president, Bin Laden captured, and many other things. I have learned that family comes first and that you should enjoy every moment with them, because everything can change in the blink of an eye.…

During finals week of fall 2014, my grandmother was starting to cook her oatmeal in the kitchen for breakfast. I was upstairs in my room packing when I heard two loud bangs. I was startled and immediately exited my room as did my brother and together we rushed down the stairs into the kitchen. My grandmother had collapsed. I have been through so many experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. However, there is one experience in particular that moved me in ways I can hardly put into words. My freshman year of high school, I was given the opportunity to join the Klondike FFA Milk Quality Career Development Event team. Studying and competing in this event led me to develop a fighting hunger for winning. Halfway through my first year, I realized that I did not like to lose.…

Slaves to batteries and power outlets; we have entered the new America. Energy, power, electricity all impose the same idea for us in today's world. We are in an ever ending loop of searching for a source of power that is both efficient and clean. As a child, the thoughts of how electricity powers everything from a toaster to our own brain sparked my interest in electrical engineering. The thoughts of creating light from a potato is unfathomable.…

Sometimes the best opportunities come from the most challenging situations. When I was in sixth grade I stress fractured my hip. Of course, this was a real disappointment just like it always is when any young, athletic kid hurts him or herself. However the timing of it couldn’t have been worse. This happened right at the beginning of my ski racing season, right when all my friends and I were anticipating how fun the upcoming season would be, and whether we would make it to Championships or not.…

We decided to move because most of our family lived there.…

The first time I had a phone I was in elementary school, and had it for about 2 years. Then as life moved on, and events took place, I was not allowed to have one, and did not have one for almost two years. When I was in fourth or fifth grade I was allowed to have another one and kept it until the sixth grade. My dog had torn it apart, and because of financial reasons, there was only one phone in the house, between three people, and it was a old slide up phone. Not a touch screen…

I remember the day I stepped onto the airplane in Ufa to the United States nine years ago. I was sitting next to another girl from my city, who was also flying to Williamsburg, Virginia to work and learn English. We talked for a little before take-off and I could see she was bursting with emotions and started to cry her eyes out. She was trembling with anxiety and fear, whimpering about how much she was leaving behind. In contrast, I sat in my seat very still, with a huge smile on my face, gleaming with anticipation of the adventure I was about to begin.…
