I did not see myself attending college after high school, even though a small part of me wanted to for the social aspect and because I actually enjoy learning new things. I didn't have much guidance from my elders, they were more caught up with taking care of my younger siblings. I knew my family could not afford to send me to school, and I wanted independence from them and left home at 18 to work and rent an apartment, which I did.
