The other day as I walked across campus I noticed these two girls. One had long, brown hair and the other had medium, blonde hair. The brown haired girl was walking out of the Reinhart Center and that's when the blonde haired girl noticed her. In excitement, the blonde haired girl screamed the name of the brown haired girl. The brown haired girl looked up and automatically she gave the biggest smile. The two girls ran for each other and jumped into each others arms. In that moment I could tell those girls were the happiest they were all day. It made me feel overjoyed that they were so excited to see each other. In that moment, I knew what I was going to do to sew up my best friends heart. I remembered the night before was New Year's Eve and my family had a party and we had a bonfire, and we had a lot of fun. But I remembered something, I remembered that my dad had tripped and stepped through the fire while we were there, and I knew what I was going to say. Once we were at lunch that day, I decided that I was going to tell her that my dad had died in a fire that weekend too.…

I am describing on the process on how I completed my story and the steps I took to complete it. A few of the goals I needed to do was that I needed to do booktracks to make a beginning, middle and end, and I also had to type it on google drive and before this happened I had to figure out what lead I should use. By being a critical thinker, when I was in the library, I had to look at all kinds of leads that would help me in the narrative that I presented in the front of the class. How I was being academically and personally accountable was that I managed to finish it on time…

Regardless of the fact that I have lived near the beach all my life, it’s not often I go on a long walk on a beach similar to the Smith Point County Park; nor have I witnessed the effects of a storm to such an extent in my life. A few of the major sections of the beach have been devastated due to the recent storms. These storms caused waves that have done remarkable damage to the point that I was having difficulty walking from the incline it created, days later it remains to cause an issue. The most chilling of all is how the dunes are slowly being worn down, from the constant bombardment of large waves from storms like Hurricane Sandy. Even though hurricanes are known for destroying our homes.…

My right foot slams on the brakes as my ears register the sound of metal on metal. I throw my car into reverse, before jumping out to assess the damage. An otherwise pristine, navy blue BMW is blemished, two chips of paint missing to reveal the white plaster underneath. Acutely aware of the crowded parking lot, I revert to autopilot, parking my car with the careful precision I had not employed since my license test six months earlier. I slowly crawl out of my car to peek at the scratch one more time.…

Somewhat related to cognition and morality, is a child’s social and emotional development. For example, following social cognitive theory, I started to regulate my own behaviors more frequently in middle childhood, instead of relying on outside punishments and rewards to shape my behavior (Rathus, 2011, p. 220). Nonetheless, my social development was quite poor. The first reason I lagged in social development is that my ADHD caused me to lack social awareness and thus get rejected by my peers, preventing me from learning through socialization. My weight also hindered me, particularly when combined with my social “awkwardness”, which together led to me having very few friends throughout middle childhood.…

Life is like a ball game, you often get thrown curveballs when least expected, regardless of the situation you have to stay in the box, you can’t strike out. In a family a child has the privilege of being raised in a household with both their parents, raised in circumstances where only one parent is present, or sometimes live in a situation where there is no parent at all.
