I found this video to be very informative and it made me think about if I was doing these tasks to develop a mindset for successful learning in my life. The tasks that really stood out to me included effective preparation requires your total focus, successful learning requires planning ahead, and finding the value in what you are studying in order to do your best. I realize that it is important to have total focus when studying, but I am the type of person that think I can multi task while studying which only make it take longer than if I was just focus on one task at a time. For thirty minutes, I sat down in my computer chair in my room and tried to relax as much as possible. I turned off my phone, all of the lights, and made sure that I was going to be uninterrupted for the allotted time that I would be trying this out. Once I got comfortable, sitting up right, I began focusing on how I was going to meditate. I had never done this before; and maybe the closest thing that I have ever got to meditating was daydreaming. So that is what I began doing.…

“I don't know where I'm going from here, but I promise it won't be boring” -David Bowie. Before experiencing Junior year, I did not know what I was to expect, but I did know it was going to be one of the most overwhelming and stressful years of my life. Never have I been more overtaken by fear than when I was sandwiched between two four-foot tall fifth grade girls sporting clunky running shoes and skyscraper high ponytails framed by neon headbands. Behind us, the high-pitch cheers from the spectators of the annual All Island Track Meet ring through my ears. Every year, fifth graders from the three elementary schools in our district flock to the local high school track vying for the revered title of best elementary school.…
