This month we had an assembly on animals. the speaker taught us about animals like a Bearded Dragon, a blue tongued lizard, and a kangaroo, carpet python, parrot, and a tarantula. She was very smart and taught us a lot. This is what I learned.

The bearded dragon lives in the desert and changes color to cool off during the day or warm up at night. When they are hot they pant like dogs and breathe hard. At night when their cold, several dragons lay on top of each other to warm up. These dragons are cold blooded and don’t have actual teeth they just have ridges in their mouths. Sometimes they can be in serious trouble and when they are they can either camouflage into the ground or stand bravely and say “BRING IT ON”!!

SNAKES!!! We got to see a carpet python! They live about a 3-7 year life. This snake is so strong!! it can support its whole body just by their tail. The carpet python smells by its tongue so if it smells something on the right side of its tough its food is to the right, if they smell prey on the left it's towards the left. Are they venomous or poisonous? these biters are venomous.

the speaker brought their kangaroo Bentley . They rescued Bentley because when it was a baby their brother throw him out of his mommy’s pouch. He tried coming back but mama said she was too full. When kangaroos are born they are the size of a little jelly bean! Bentley was 8 months old. Their tail is like a 3rd leg and it is made of all muscle. Even though he was a baby he had big, strong

That means the python could get out the cage or wherever they are and they could lie on your face or body. This is significant because when you wake up and there is a python on your face you're going to freak out and it’s going to provoke the python. Clearly, pythons are not safe as…

“ Burmese pythons are carnivores and survive primarily on small birds and mammals” (Piven). Because of the python’s hinged jaw, it can swallow an object as wide as a basketball. Their jaws can open up to about five times the width of its own head. The Burmese python is a native snake to Southeast Asia. They have invaded the South Florida Everglades after careless pet owners have let them free.…

As a military child, I left the United States with my family at the age of five and spent eight years living overseas at duty stations in Japan, Germany, and Italy. We traveled extensively during vacations to over 20 different countries. As a result, I claim proficiency in ordering french fries and apple juice in several different languages. Although moving has brought me some misfortune, and many people would say that living overseas qualifies as adversity, I never felt it was such.…

In many ways, individuals often struggle against their fears. The time I experienced this was when I used to ride steers a couple summers ago. It was a hot July day and my dad and I had just finished helping my Rodeo queen sister get ready for carrying flags to start off the rodeo. After when we walked over to the stands to get ready for their riding, I was gearing up to ride one of those beasts they call steers, thinking I was going to get killed.…

Technology has developed so much over the years that we have relied on it so much. Technology is used in pretty much everything we use nowadays. Living in a neighborhood was the greatest advantage, but having kids the same age as I was even better. There was never a time we weren't outside: rain, shine, snow, miserably cold, or even scorchingly hot. There was 4 of us: 3 girls and 1 guy, all around the same age.…

I have been through so many experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. However, there is one experience in particular that moved me in ways I can hardly put into words. My freshman year of high school, I was given the opportunity to join the Klondike FFA Milk Quality Career Development Event team. Studying and competing in this event led me to develop a fighting hunger for winning. Halfway through my first year, I realized that I did not like to lose.…

Slowly as I wake up I recognize the way that I have changed into something I have adored so dearly. Maybe I like it better this way, with no feeling of intrusion only leaving with a sense unsure of my belongings. The hardness of my cover and the intricacy of my content are not intended for frail fingertips and weak personalities. I feel like have been opened here and there. My spine stroked by unstable hands, held with a broken center, my pages marginally skimmed through, just to be put down mid-sentence.…

When I wrote this essay I was in my new home, my door room. I often refer to my dorm as my house, which my friends despise but I do it anyways. I always say “Want to come over to my house?”. Writing this essay in my new house allowed me to reflect back to my old house in Rotterdam. The physical setting that I was in made me feel extremely nostalgic for my old room at home that I shared with my little sister.…

Sometimes the best opportunities come from the most challenging situations. When I was in sixth grade I stress fractured my hip. Of course, this was a real disappointment just like it always is when any young, athletic kid hurts him or herself. However the timing of it couldn’t have been worse. This happened right at the beginning of my ski racing season, right when all my friends and I were anticipating how fun the upcoming season would be, and whether we would make it to Championships or not.…

The guidelines for this assignment were to select and tell the story of an argument that has shaped me into the person that I am today. I chose to share my struggle of being different in my family of extremely involved parents and athletic brothers. After a major argument and decision made with my parents, it was through lacrosse, which I never excelled at or cared much about, that brought me to realize that I am a natural leader. To write this narrative, I put much of my recent practice writing scenes to use to help a reader submerse into the story and make them feel as if they were actually present in that moment. I also kept a great focus on my narrative arc.…
