I don't like being in the dark, so not knowing wouldn’t sit well with me. In my opinion, there is no value of not knowing. There’s only two possible answers negative or positive. Knowing the results would better prepare me for the future. If the results came back negative I would be filled with incredible relief. Not just for me, but also for my family. If the test came back positive I would be sad for a little while, but I wouldn't let it keep me down for long. Instead of putting things off and waiting I would do everything I wanted earlier instead in life. I would start living faster,

Lastly by getting tested early, you live your life to the fullest. Personally, there are so many things I wish to do. We all have a bucket list such as going skydiving, swimming with sharks, taking to someone you would have been shy to talk to. These are positive things and perhaps crazy things that you would never do knowing that you would always remember that memory and feel perhaps embarrassed about it. But, you could also feel happy about it.…

If you plan on misusing the testing in order to fulfill your own needs instead of reasoning about what would be best for the fetus’ health that shows irresponsibility and should not be allowed by the center. Another way to show responsibility is to be a knowledgeable patient when going into the decision making process and being mentally prepared. In the Psychology and Genetics Research Group’s article they believe that there are now several well-documented psychological problems associated with prenatal testing programs (Martea). These include poor understandings of tests undergone or declined, anxiety following false positive results, and false reassurance in those receiving negative test results. This article expresses that if not taking seriously, genetic testing can have more problems than intended.…

Beginning junior year, I occupied myself with the most constructive investment in my life. My daily routine was bland, but oddly hailed as the ultimate path to victory. I was learning in school, but the learning lacked meaning. Plot lines and mathematical formulas were unavailing ideas, which I tepidly regurgitated. I concluded that a life permeated with monotonous toil was not worth celebrating on my day of judgment.…

This is my first year of high school, and so far I am enjoying this year more than any of my previous years in elementary school at Aviston Elementary. In the past years, I was a stressed out loner who was easily annoyed by everything and could not get long-term projects done without having a melt down at some point. However, in this year that has changed. I have made a few friends who have stayed with me for the entire year, learned to tolerate immature, childish actions, and have not felt completely overwhelmed to this date. This year and previous years both had their moments, but I would not change anything that happened because they both helped make me who I am now.…

About four years ago I was playing club lacrosse for the Villanova Wildcats travel team. I was about thirteen years old when I experienced one of my first significant lessons of failure. At a young age many do not understand the importance of failures and short comings, and how it is essential to learn, grow, and improve. We think success comes easy and without trial which is not realistic. My life changing failure taught me many things: the strength of teamwork, the power of preparation and will, and how to be a better competitor.…

Testing is favorable for expecting parents because it can help them prepare for the lifestyle that their child may have and it will give them time to think if they are ready to parent a child with a disorder (“Women’s Health Care Physicians”). As reported by Claudia, “[pertaining to the tests] First, whether to have children who in later life may develop the highly penetrant and dominantly inherited neurodegenerative disorder. Second, whether it is justifiable to have children—given that uncertainty arises about at-risk parents’ ability to sustain a parenting role.” There are many ways that people may interpret the test. Some expecting parents may begin to think about abortion and some many begin preparing for the expenses of their child.…
