It all started the summer I graduated. Me and my girlfriend were helping my dad do some work at his house. When we were leaving he told me for graduation, he would give me his wife's old car I've been wanting, but said I had to pay $2,000. He would pay the other half. In my head I was thinking "that's not giving it to me", I was just happy to be able to get the car. When we were talking about the car, he said I could do payments on the car. Consequently never let me get the car. I was living with my girlfriend ,who had no where to stay, on my brothers land. Therefore he said I couldn't afford it. I could afford it though, he just didn't like the fact I moved out of my grandma's house. He owns his own home improvement company that I …show more content…
I had the money, he continued to tell me my priorities weren't straight. My now fiancé moved in with her friend and I moved back to my grandma's. He said if I never left home and was in college, he would give me the car that day. I was living at home and enrolled in college. So my grandma asked him if I could have the car. He told me no it's not his car. In such wise he finally let me buy the car and I put insurance on it. He lost the title and had to get a new one. His wife still said I couldn't drive it without the title. Thus I had to wait two more weeks to get the car, after I payed for insurance already. I was mad at them and was rude to them, in such wise they took their time getting the title. When it came in the mail they continued to make me wait a few more days. The day came that we got it put in my name. I fought to get this car for a good solid 7-8 months. When I finally got the car it felt so weird but so good. The car was running all good for about 2 weeks, at that point I started having problems. My dad used his code reader to see what was wrong with it. He bought all the parts and we worked on it at his house. After we got all the parts put in, new problems started

My dad doesn't understand me, and he doesn't let me speak what I think. He doesn't let me defend myself even if he knows it is a topic that he does not know about. And he doesn't let me prove my point if we argue, which is not fair in my case at all. When my father knows that I have proven him wrong and have made a fool out of him, he walks away with a threat and an awkward eye glare. I get nothing other than the tons of insults he throws at me and the heartache I get as I see the one I love fighting with me so much.…

On a day like any other, I brought my then current boyfriend home to meet my mother for the first time. She conversed with him trying to find a sense of comfort to allow me to go out with him. Upon her approval, we had gotten in the car and went on a casual date to the Outback steakhouse. Right away I noticed something off about his driving, he would speed at inappropriate times, stop late and make imprudent turns, almost hitting other drivers continuously. I brought this matter to his attention and even offered to drive, but my request was denied.…

Culture, a word that can be interpreted differently for everyone. To me it means, how you identify yourself by your beliefs, attitudes, relationships, anything that affects you, and how they have affected your life and what you take away from them. Currently everyone in my family is unaware of our cultural ties to other countries, so I personally identify my culture with American culture and with the things that affects my life. I have a complicated life that has shaped me into who I am today and some of those influences that have mainly impacted me is; my complicated family situation, lessons I’ve learned from soccer, and hard times with money.…

Many things happened to me, good and bad, but I can’t remember a time where I was happy all the time because bad outweighs good therefore I can recall one moment, that was when I moved because I didn’t listen We never knew I had ADHD back then, so everything I did back then or didn’t ‘listen’ was because of my ADHD I couldn’t grasp on what I did or think of it because I would be thinking of several things at a time but what hit the hardest were the words,” Ask your dad if you can move with him”. I can’t remember how old but I knew I was a child at the time, but I can recollect, a gentle breeze and the heat from the sun with the hot metal from the play structure I was sitting on, outside in the front of my school and an hour passed, I was walking to my Nan’s house and I was going to eat there.…

It is said that a dog is a man’s best friend, but if dogs have claimed that title what is left for cats? I would agree with this statement of a dog’s profound loyalty to man if it weren’t for a little black cat that came into my life at just the right moment. The bond between me and my cat was one of the only reasons I was able to get through a very rough patch in my life. It was the summer of 2014 and things just weren’t going right for my family.…

Abandonment, something that could destroy someone or help build and shape them. we went to Niagara Falls, which is super cool, but obviously I don't remember it. Considering that the restaurant is the only source of income and we are far from "rolling in the dough", we can't just close for any given amount of time just to go on vacation. Growing up, everyone thought that since I had both of my parents and they weren't divorced that I had the "perfect family". Trust me, that doesn't make my family perfect by any means, nor does it make any family perfect. Every family has its flaws, some more than others.…

“I have the best parents ever” was a phrase that was often said during my depressing childhood. I would smile and say “I do too” even though that was far from the truth. My mother was an alcoholic that could not be left alone by herself.…
