Personal Narrative Analysis

Decent Essays
For the first paper option I was planning on writing about an experience I had in my childhood. When I was younger, I locked my babysitter out of the house. I think this narrative would be entertaining to write. I could go into detail about what I was thinking while I locked the doors. Then I would also go into detail about my thoughts when my parents came to the door and forced me to unlock it. This narrative might be hard to write because this event happened so long ago, however, I know I will be able to come up with the right information to complete the essay.
The second essay topic I could write about is when I got into a car accident with one of my best friends. This accident took place two summers ago, making the memories from that day

The Sanctuary of School The essay I chose to write was over the short article of “The Sanctuary of School” by Lynda Barry. In this story it talks about the author Lynda Barry’s experience with the school from a young age. She talks about growing up in a home with her mom and her dad having money issues, relatives that kept moving in, her brother and her sleeping on the couch, and the constant fighting going on. She explains how she didn’t feel safe at home so she talks about school being a safe haven for her, and how lucky she was that she had Mrs. LeSane and Mr. Gunderson.…

I believe you should add a little more descriptive words in the second paragraph. I want to know more about how you felt when your mom left and how important it is to you that your dad was able to take care of you without help. You have dialogue in the first paragraph and it does a great job at enhancing the essay. 7. The story is mostly in past tense with exception to the concluding paragraph.…

in my first essay I had wrote about my experience working on my high schools Dance Marathon. it was easier for me to write about my first essay because sit was about me and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life.with writing about this event I had started from the start and then skipped into the later stages of putting the event together, then talking about the event. I didn’t find anything about myself in this essay because of the fact that I had already wrote about this in high school. in my second essay I had wrote about whether or not heading should be allowed in soccer. The Story Behind my Learning I am a senior in high school which means I have learned, for 13 years of my life, how to read, write, look for details in a writing, close read, and how to fix my own writing. That seems like a lot, but I know that I still do not know everything about reading and writing. I can’t specifically remember the first time I started to read, however I do remember maybe in first or second grade, copying words over and over again trying to learn how to spell them. Then, I definitely remember in third grade starting to write in cursive and learning how the sign my name.…

When we first began Composition I, I did not believe I would ever pass this extremely difficult class. Coming into to the class with not a lot of knowledge may seem impossible, but Somehow, I have been able to maintain high grades all semester. There have been many times where I have had to give up some of my personal free time in order to meet the deadline given to us by Mrs. Garth. Throughout the first semester of Composition I, I realized the strengths and weaknesses I have in writing essays. To begin, the first essay we wrote in class was a narrative essay on a moment that changed our lives.…

I chose the episodic narrative piece because I believe it was the hardest, yet most interesting writing I have written this semester. I struggled with this piece because I tend to have too many details in my stories. The episodic narrative allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and keep my writing precise, but also work on only using important details. The episodic narrative began as a slightly different list of vacations. Even within the vacations I had from the beginning I revised my ideas on the most important story from each.…

I wrote about an experience from my high school life. I felt this was the easiest essay, and I had lot of opportunities to play with words. This essay gave me a chance to write something in a form of a play or drama. The drama form of writing was really very fun-filled experience. However stretching this narrative essay long was hard enough, and I had to write 750 words on a ten minutes event.…

Thinking about what to write for this essay has been a huge challenge because I feel that I cannot relate to any of the excerpts that have been read in class. I’ve never been involved in a dramatic incident like in “Rain of Fire” by Evan Thomas or “Road Work” by Staff Sergeant Jack Lewis, nor have I ever had a definitive experience with being privy to the prejudice of the world as in “Jackie’s Debut: A Unique Day” by Mike Royko. I’ve found the most to relate to in the excerpt “Learning to Write” by Russel Baker, though that most is still relatively little. So, what do I write about?…
