Boy was I wrong! My father fell and had a head injury. They sent him to a nearby hospital for a CT Scan and it came out abnormal. That was when I got a call from them, telling me that my father needs to be transferred to Urgent Care. I stayed with him that night and so many thoughts ran through my head as I screamed and shouted in the waiting room. I did not care about the cost at the time, so I lied... I lied. I told my dad that Medicaid is going to cover everything. I thought if he is in need of critical care, I would take a gap year- I actually thought of taking a gap year knowing how much I love school- and work full time at Zions Bank for commission and pay since I know a few tellers there. I thought to myself that I can work full time for an entire year and get his medical costs covered and go back to school. Everyday while hospitalized I reassured him that medicaid is going to cover everything, so he can feel free to make any decisions that he needs to, to save his life. He ended up undergoing neurosurgery. Good news is that he can walk, talk, and eat as well as he did before. Bad news is that I got ahold of the medical bill and let's just say it is enough to cover two years of medical school for me. I am working to pay it off
