Before we settled in Hammond, Louisiana, we traveled to different places in America and experienced many different things. A few weeks later, we moved to Hammond and it was some of the toughest moments in my life. My lifestyle was completely different ever since then. I hated the change at the time, because I lost my all my friends and there’s absolutely nothing I can do around the area. I didn’t know any English at the time and it was difficult to learn without much resource of technology. The first day of school was unlike what I had before: environment, religion, people, language, food, clothes, etc. The school was filled with a religious environment, so Christianity was introduced to me for the first time. Even though I didn’t understand anything when they started to pray, but I still tried to my best pretend to pray with them every single day. At first I couldn’t understand any of the school material, but I received a tremendous amount of help from both teachers and other students. It was tough for me to make friends because of my personality and communication skills, but I slowly become friends with almost everyone around
