While both of the videos were interesting for this week, I definitely think I related more to the Ted Talk. When she started to talk about her som throwing up everything he ate, I thought, wow, he must be really allergic to cookies. Then, after further watching, she started to talk about his food allergy and I was shocked that I had guessed it within the first few minutes. However, this story was very relatable, not because I have a disability, but as a kid, I had extreme asthma, like many other children. I lived at the doctors office and my mom was scared to let me go anywhere by myself. I never understood and I always felt left out when the teacher would stop teaching to answer the phone everyday and tell me that it was time to goto the school …show more content…
We think it is someone who is mentally retarded or someone who can't use their body as intended. Someone who isn't normal, but a few years ago I found out that being left handed is considered a disability. According to Dr. Sanjay Gupta's findings, being left-handed negatively affects school performance and can lead to mental health problems. For me, left handedness is normal. I've been accommodating since I was a kid. I specifically remember in 4th grade, I was so happy because I got into the class of kids who had high test scores! I was the only left handed kid in the class so I felt like I was the stuff! One day, this right handed kid was purposely bumping my elbow while we were taking a test and I politely asked him to stop. He didn't. So me with my short temper, I went off on him! Then I preceded to fail that test we were taking, and I got kicked out of that class and was put in a class with kids who had lower test scores. I was so hurt that day and I still think about what if I had stayed in that class? I have a friend today who was in that class, and now is a 4.0 student and has a full ride to college. I always think what if. That could be me and I just remember that day, and I always think, if it wasn't for me being left handed this thing that I didn't ask for that makes me different, then I could be somebody different or even

On March 31, 2018, which was on a Saturday I went to my first real view, soccer game it was located inside the southeast entrance of stubhub center at 12pm in the afternoon. I had never been to a game before, but of course my husband convinced me to go with him and my in laws since they are big fans of the Galaxy team. I was really excited since I had already seen these teams play on television. Although it was my first time I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed being able to understand the sport and their rules. I just felt so bad when a player would get injured because it seemed so painful seeing someone get kicked or falling really bad and getting scratched by the grass.…

Let me get one thing straight: I’m not in the business of crying. Crying equals weakness, so like most wannabe men growing up, my ducts were as dry as my mom’s attempt at cornbread. Opening up the still slender book of my life and leafing through to a random page, ninety-five percent of the time, the mood would be positive. I’m not saying that my book lacks trials and tribulations or moments of misery, but on the whole, melancholy moments reside in the minority, not the majority. Now crack the spine of the book.…

All around me I can feel the excitement. The smell of a barbeque lingers enticingly in the summer air. Patiently, my mom, sisters, grandmother, aunt, cousins, and I stand in a crowd with around two hundred other people, each eager to see the relative they have been separated from for nine months. I have warm tears of joy rushing down my face, the only way I have seen my dad in the latest month is through a computer screen. It has been to long since I have felt his embracive arms wrapped around me in a warm, assuring hug.…

When I was five, my father asked me if I would like to learn martial arts. I was enticed by the “arts”, and agreed to what I thought was some form of painting. Although this was dispelled in my first lesson, I found a quiet sense of purpose in the rituals of the classes. My first year consisted of little more than striking the air in front of me, but I eventually learned a myriad of forms, drilled into my head by constant practice. The discipline of each form fascinated me, and I quietly submitted my entirety to perfecting every movement and breath.…

After a long seven-hour car ride, we were finally here, in the Upper Peninsula. Looking out the window of our truck, I knew it was truly different than the big city I grew up in. Not many kids get to experience what happened to me the summer before my second-grade year, but it definitely changed my life for the better. When we first pulled into our new driveway, I could not believe what I was seeing. I can remember seeing a little farm house with about five horses in our backyard.…

To me the transition from childhood to adulthood occurred when I got my license and my first car. I got my license early in the year of 2015, I passed the test with ease getting a perfect score despite being nervous during the maneuverability course. I took my awkward photo and went out the door with the freedom to drive without any adult. Despite not showing any signs of excitement on the outside, on the inside I was geeked to be the one controlling where i can go, what music to listen, and how loud I wanted the music it to be. The only downfall to getting my license was that i was to be what my dad called a “Gopher”.…
