In my modern day vanitas assemblage, I used a variety of three-dimensional objects that are representative of my ideas of life and death, and what I find most valuable in my life. To start off I used a 16x20 cardboard box lined with newsprints and black construction paper. The newsprints represent the fleeting passage of time and the idea that history and the presence of earth will continue to be documented even after I am gone. The collections of CDs assorted are albums that have resonated within me throughout various stages in my life. Music has a way of curing the soul and translating words and ideas that at times are difficult to convey.
