My first family vacation, my family and i drove to South Beach, Florida. It was probably the most fun i ever had in my life. Being therefor the 4 days that we were was life changing. I never felt so happy being somewhere ever. it was like having your first birthday party, or being the kid that has the most presents under the tree. it was special to me. my mom seen how much i loved it and wanted to start a new life because of the hate we had for wisconsin. the long winters with below zero degrees.the short summers barely getting over ninety degrees. the crime rate always rising in the city i'm from. in the year of 2015 it was a little over 120 murders alone in wisconsin.
Living in wisconsin with my mom, having to pick which guardian i wanted to live with because my parents was divorced. I wait to move because my father held me hostage in wisconsin because of court stuff. IT forced me to transfer schools from a school that was like the perfect society that my mom got me into, to a ghetto school that was a very violent place like a prison yard because that was one of the only schools in the area. the Scratches on the walls around the school, reminded me of be haunted in a scary movie. cells of classrooms with a bunch of violent prisoners that just wants to ruin your life and put you down in anyway possible. Worst of all was the education i felt like reading the book “green eggs and ham” by Dr. seuss was more difficult.

Florida During summer vacation, in the year 2011 my family and I went on a trip to Florida to meet up with some of our relatives. This was my first time ever going to Florida and I was really excited to go. But one of us had to stay home and take care of our pets, so my dad stayed home to take care of them. It took about half a day for us to get ready to go and like 4 or 5 hours until we were out of Michigan. My brothers and I would stay up all night to see how cool the city looked at night.…

In many ways, individuals often struggle against their fears. The time I experienced this was when I used to ride steers a couple summers ago. It was a hot July day and my dad and I had just finished helping my Rodeo queen sister get ready for carrying flags to start off the rodeo. After when we walked over to the stands to get ready for their riding, I was gearing up to ride one of those beasts they call steers, thinking I was going to get killed.…

A time I had to face a new situation such as attending a new school or moving to a new neighborhood was when I was in second grade. I was either seven or eight. I had moved to several different schools here such as Lee Richmond, Hamilton, an elementary school in armona, (don't really remember much about that school). I was also homeschooled for a while. I had also went to an elementary school in Tulare.…

After a long seven-hour car ride, we were finally here, in the Upper Peninsula. Looking out the window of our truck, I knew it was truly different than the big city I grew up in. Not many kids get to experience what happened to me the summer before my second-grade year, but it definitely changed my life for the better. When we first pulled into our new driveway, I could not believe what I was seeing. I can remember seeing a little farm house with about five horses in our backyard.…

Many people go through life thinking that intelligence is static. Many think that people are simply born with certain skills; they either have them, or they don’t. After all, the only way to be smart, is to be born with it, right? Or is there more to it than that? It only makes sense that the brain, being like any muscle in the human body, would work identically to say, a bicep; the more you condition it, the more it will thrive, and the more it will expand.…

The first time I had a phone I was in elementary school, and had it for about 2 years. Then as life moved on, and events took place, I was not allowed to have one, and did not have one for almost two years. When I was in fourth or fifth grade I was allowed to have another one and kept it until the sixth grade. My dog had torn it apart, and because of financial reasons, there was only one phone in the house, between three people, and it was a old slide up phone. Not a touch screen…

A little stuffed brown bear named Patches is the first image that comes to mind when I reflect on my life. The bear had tags attached to a blue jean pocket with the words happy, sad, excited, anxious, hopeful, etc. I was expected to change the emotions of the bear to match how I felt each day, but this quickly became one my biggest stressors. I didn’t want to display to the world when I felt pessimistic and bitter because it showed signs of fragility and weakness. One day I lost the tag that read the word “hopeful” on it, and my seven year old self thought I was now incapable of ever hoping for a better life.…
