As a child you think that your life is perfect. Not one thing can get in your way. You live in a magic bubble where no obstacles are found. I was determined to be a better person than I was the day before. I was very positive and my face always had a smile on it, I thought I was invincible. I have always been a shy girl, never wanted to get out of my very restricted comfort zone until one day when everything changed. I was fourteen in the eighth grade. I had been experiencing loss of balance for a very long time and thought nothing about it because I was extremely overweight and my pediatrician at the time blamed it on that one issue. Immediately, my parents booked an appointment with my primary doctor. All of my symptoms were explained to her and she chose to send me to get an MRI. While waiting for the results, I had gone on a European cruise for my fifteenth birthday that is where my first epileptic seizure happened. Being in a country where I did not know anybody it was almost impossible to figure out where I had to go from there. I was lucky enough to find a doctor that prescribed pills for the amount of days that I would be staying in Spain for. The trip was a complete disaster; I did not enjoy a second of it. Every single-family member that was with me on the trip was on edge. They had never seen something like that happen to anyone and they were deeply affected. As soon as I got back to Miami, I immediately went to Miami Children’s Hospital where several neurologists checked me for days. On the fourth day, it was very clear to every single specialist that I had Epilepsy. Hearing those words come from my doctor’s mouth meant nothing to me at the
