Once you you get into a habit of doing something every day it is really had to pull yourself away. Technology has become a major part in our lives and we can not help it because it is everywhere and everyone uses it. It is how we communicate and work and to go without it for a while could end up hurting us. As I sat up in my bed I saw the glaring sun while it started to peek through the curtains. I jumped out of bed and ran down stairs to go watch TV then that's when I realized I was going to try to spend a whole day without any technology. I went up to my brothers room to see what he was doing. When I saw what he was doing it made me think how much we are really using technology so I told him that I was going to try to go one whole …show more content…
“What do you mean I will show you I can do it.” I said.
I went back to sitting on my bed and reluctantly looked at the blank wall on my right side trying to dig something out of my brain. Then Finally after about what seemed like what had been an hour but had really been five minutes I thought of something. I could read a book because I feel like I never have time to do that anymore. So I grabbed a book and started reading. Latter my mom came into my room and asked if I wanted to go to Olivia’s Holiday Spectacular practice.
“Sure why not, I do not have much to do here.” I said

While we were driving I was looking out the window admiring all the nature outside. As we pulled up and got out of the car I could feel my hair sweep through the air. I yanked on the door to open it. We walked down two flights of stairs that made me get the feeling that I was going down into a cold dark room. Once we got down I could hear all the Christmas songs flying through the air. At this point I could not wait till Christmas. While I was the they had me help and roll up papers to look like scrolls which this made time fly and then we were off on our way home. We go home and I could feel the victory running through my body of almost completing the whole day without any technology. So while there were a few more hours left in the day I decided to see if any of my family wanted to play a game. The only person I could get to play a game with was Olivia so we agreed on playing Jenga. I set all the wooden blocks up to be in the right position. I wanted to go first so I cautiously took one rough wooden brick form the tower of blocks. After a few more turns went by Olivia was going and she could not find any blocks that she could get out. She took her chances and extracted the wood from the gigantic stack. As she did that all the bricks came flying at us and one by one they came down and hit us. That had declared me as the winner. As I sat there on the elegant carpet

On a late and quiet night, I thought it would be nice to go on the row boat and lay on the boat for a while. It was nerve-racking going through the woods, but it was not bad. Once I got onto the boat, I rowed further out into the water until I felt like I was out far enough. It was beautiful, I laid back putting the notebook up where my feet were, and looked up at the stars with my cigarette in my mouth. Inhaling and exhaling the smoke, in and out, in and out, in and out.…

Long hours, close bonds and rigorous intellectual challenges. That is how I would describe the summer I spent as an apprentice at a local mechanic shop near my house. Each client’s car was like a puzzle needing to be deciphered, a mystery wanting to be solved. Critical thinking, pattern recognition and good old elbow grease were keys to a job well done. At the time, I had just been accepted to transfer to UT Austin and was still unsure of the profession I would pursue.…

Earlier this month I attempted the task of going 24 hours without technology. We had to look at the effects that technology had on us, and at the feelings we had during and after the event. I have to admit it was hard to undergo this task, I am a freshmen in college, and I find that I use technology everyday almost all day long. I wanted to take it a step farther and see what it’s like being a high school student and how much technology they use in a day, and what they use it for. Technology is always growing into something bigger and better.…

While sitting on my designated airplane seat, I lifted the window shades to catch a glimpse of the world under me. The once salmon and purple sky transformed into a vast expanse of jet-black that engulfed the mountainous Balkan Peninsula. A canopy of luminous stars materialized amongst the ocean of blackness. Some were dull, merely flickering into existence every now and then, but there was an adequate amount of shimmering stars to illuminate the dark, moonless night. The Adriatic Sea glistened, mirroring the dazzling assemblage of glittering stars and the luminescence from the tiny ports and food markets that lined the small country of Bosnia and Herzegovina.…
