This week was overwhelming. I live in Seminole, FL. and lost power very early Monday morning of September 11 and my power and cable was just restored yesterday, September 17. My support system is a friend and she and her husband were evacuated as they live by the water. I was a little concern at first having to deal with the storm by myself as my family is nowhere near by. Glad to say my daughter and I may it through the storm and only had to deal with the heat. I was excited to finally have cold air. Hot flashes and 93 plus temperature with no air conditioner is no picnic. I actually lost 1 ½ inches of my waistline in one week. Additionally, I experienced daily headaches. Glad it is over with and I hope we do not get another storm. I did

During that week, my family and I were lucky that we didn’t get flooded because of the ditches on our street. Even though it was raining hard where we lived the ditches hold as much of the water it could. Our power went out here and there but never for a long time like everyone else. We were safe throughout the storm with no injuries or destruction.…

Hello I am Anthony Stowe, I am sharing my life experiences. I have experienced many storms, Hurricane Nate, and Hurricane Irma. They were terrible, but IRMA was worse because we went out of power and many trees and twigs had fell during IRMA. When I was little there was a tornado that hit Putnam county, it was bad because a tree fell on our house and we had no power for 2 days. During these storms we were scared but we got thru them.…

For hurricane Irma, I had to evacuate Cape Canaveral and go to my father's house in Ocala. I am very thankful I did because a tornado swept pass on the street across from mine, and many of my neighbors lost their roofs completely. My house had roof damage in the room I use as my art studio. There were some leaks which messed up some artworks in progress. I am thankful though that it is all the damage and not anything more because I know a lot of people went through a lot worse.…

August 27, 2017, at 2 AM, I watched as the water slowly crept up to my house. I couldn’t sleep. I was sitting there, staring, at the river outside my house that used to be my driveway not knowing what else to do. I kept my phone close that night, every so often hearing the ‘ding’ that would signify that another one of my friends were either being evacuated or the water had finally found its way into their home, while I was silently hoping that the water wouldn’t choose my house to break into. Hurricane Harvey was the first hurricane that I have really been apart of.…

In many ways, individuals often struggle against their fears. The time I experienced this was when I used to ride steers a couple summers ago. It was a hot July day and my dad and I had just finished helping my Rodeo queen sister get ready for carrying flags to start off the rodeo. After when we walked over to the stands to get ready for their riding, I was gearing up to ride one of those beasts they call steers, thinking I was going to get killed.…

Technology has developed so much over the years that we have relied on it so much. Technology is used in pretty much everything we use nowadays. Living in a neighborhood was the greatest advantage, but having kids the same age as I was even better. There was never a time we weren't outside: rain, shine, snow, miserably cold, or even scorchingly hot. There was 4 of us: 3 girls and 1 guy, all around the same age.…

I was first introduced to reptiles when I was when I was at a church event that had an “Noah’s ark” petting zoo. When I was born, per my father, whenever you would talk to me, I wouldn’t show any reaction towards you. The only time I would ever react is when my mother was screaming about something and I would look around the room for the sound. In third grade, I would always get in trouble, perhaps because I didn’t listen when I was supposed to. This changed as soon as I got my hearing aids. I remember the molding of the hearing aid being stuck into ears, which felt like there was cold water in my ears.…
