Personal Narrative: An Interview With Bryant Mitchell

When I chose to do an interview I wanted to make sure it was something I could relate too. I wanted to be able to take the advice I was giving and apply it to my everyday life. That when I decided to interview Bryant Mitchell because he is in a similar situation to mine. He has been caring for one of his parents for the past two years with the help of his family. He talks about the importance of scheduling, charts and free time. He also talks about how it intervenes with his life and why he chose to do this instead of letting someone in a nursing home. I went into my interview with a list of questions that I planned on asking. After I asked the first two questions he stopped me. This is because they believe that people have self- control over their actions and the things that they do. That is till they ruin their liver then it’s consider a disability. The year that this happened the police had ran into his parents’ house and looking for someone. The thing was the police ran in and pointed guns at them put them outside on their lawn just to find out they went into the wrong house. That triggered something that made them drink twice as much. His parent suffered from seizures and all the alcohol had be suppressing them. When they tried to stop their body was used to running on it and it slowly started to shut down. Instead of going to sleep they had a seizure and loss air to their brain. Which is how they got acute brain damage in the first
