On Saturday, July 8, 2017, at approximately 1:24 AM, partner Officer Griffin (#3135) and I were on uniformed patrol in a marked police vehicle (Unit #21) as 3A21. Officer Griffin was the driver, and I was the front passenger. We were monitoring the police radio and responded to a call regarding a woman screaming that she had been shot at 104 W. Peoria St. We responded “Code-3” with emergency lights and sirens.
Upon our arrival, we were flagged down by a citizen who was standing by with the victim. The citizen was later interviewed by Officer Arrelanes (#0495). Officer Travnitz (#8502), Officer Castillo (#1314), Officer Bisterfeldt(#0720), Sergeant Peinado (#6977), and I canvassed Peoria St. from Fair Oaks Ave. to Lincoln Ave. for blood trails or shell casings. We did not find any blood trails or shell casings.
