Decent Essays
When I started to write I would write about the evaluation of a novel in a very formal format and I would write about the character and how they connect with a certain idea or theme. Although it was opinion and my perception of the question it did not differ from the one the other students had I still felt disconnected, I was meant to take a predestined path about the ideas that I wrote about. I agree with your post. I also felt that with each state having a myriad of laws that aren’t necessarily congruent with other states, let alone the federal government, would make it difficult if not impossible to have a single court. Therefore, with the way our system is set up, it is a necessity to have a multi-tiered court. When looking at the downside, I hadn’t contemplated the fact of jurisdictional conflict.…

Lucy Calkins advocates that students need to write about personal stories, or what matters most to them (Calkins & Harwayne, 1991). Writing with a purpose is a major part of writing workshop (Calkins & Harwayne, 1987). I will go more in depth, on the topic of writing with a purpose, in the motivation section of this paper. Self-assessments are another key component during independent writing time (Calkins, Hohne, & Robb, 2015). Lucy Calkins, et al.…

She lays on me, painting my chest with her ebony hair. With each of my breathes her head rises and falls, it must of been the the simple rhythm that sent her to sleep. I have not known her long, or even know her middle name, but as I hold her delicate frame, a thousand thoughts go through my head. I think about how she feels under my hands, how her comforting warmth radiates to them. I think about how much I want her, yet love her at the same time.…

It couldn’t have been past 10 a.m. when the alarm went off. We all knew what it meant- we were firefighters, it’s what we do. The fire chief told us that an apartment complex in downtown Boston had gone ablaze, and that it was really bad. We quickly got into our uniforms and hopped on as the fire truck left the station. We were a few miles away before I saw the smoke, a dark giant against the bright blue sky.…

He still wanted to shoot him in the face so I stood in front of Bruiser and told my dad to lower his weapon. I knew he would because I’m his baby girl and I can get anything I want, but I don’t do that because then I would be a spoiled brat and no one wants that.…

    My Writing Styles Essay

Throughout the time that I have spent in the educational system I have used various writing styles in my literature. These different styles have helped me to find out the type of person I am. When I first started writing, I would write in a style of just writing down words to form a story that had no true meaning. I maintained this form of writing until one of my middle school teachers had a talk with me about my form of writing. They spoke to me on how my style of writing wouldn’t help me moving forward, because other teachers and future professors wouldn’t accept the type of work I was making.…

Running down the staircase, taking two-steps at a time to approach the roaring of two beast combating within my commons area. They screeched, each with equal volume, their sides and how this was what had occurred earlier that day. My kin were at it again, my brother couldn’t help but contradict my mom. When my parents had been together, I had always attempted to mediate whatever they were deliberating about. Yet, I found myself unable to handle or control their discussion.…

My writing mostly follows prompts that I do not choose so I may not be as interested in what I am writing. This can cause my writing to seem boring and detached, which is good for a scientific research paper, but not for a more personal piece. I hope my writing could be interesting enough to keep a reader’s attention so this is something that I actively try to fix. Also, until this year, my writing had ever been seriously critiqued.…
