Personal Narrative: American Horror Story

I finally got around to watching the fifth season of American Horror Story. I was excited to see what they would be coming up with, seeing as this time it would take place in a hotel, possibilities galore, and with the little bits they released I was getting interested. When the show started I eagerly awaited what fate was in store for the first two victims, I mean women, yet as the show unfolded within the first five minutes, I found myself becoming disappointed with it. I stopped watching after about 31 mins. I couldn’t handle it anymore. I didn’t understand what was going on and why any of it was even relevant. It was too much sex and blood and none of it had a purpose. It felt as if it should have been a trailer for a movie and not an actually …show more content…
It was as if the writer and director wanted to just throw all the carnage they could at viewers. All I could think was I have watched a porno with a better storyline than this and I was actually invested in it. The turn off wasn't due to the graphic nature of the scenes either. I love horror movies I watch them all the time so seeing things of that nature doesn't bother me at all. It is expected, but without a decent storyline under all that carnage it just becomes a home video that could be shot in someone’s bedroom. I caught glimpses of thing here and there but it wasn’t enough to keep me interested. There were too many characters and so much going on it was just overwhelming. This episode could have definitely been stretched out into a good three episodes and moved more smoothly. The believability of the episode suffered immensely when a few minor tweaks would have made it tremendously better. I know it is fake but many people still like to watch it. Horror or anything for that matter doesn't have to be real for someone to believe …show more content…
The second would be highly unlikely and I give thanks only Robert Rodriquez’s The Misbehaviors from the movie Four Rooms. Four Rooms was a great movie and I would recommend it anyone, maybe the writer should have taken hints from those storyline to figure out how to string storyline together smoothly. The women could have checked the toilet found it clogged with bloody stool and proceeded to ask for another room. Whatever happens next, although it is unlikely, your brain would start telling you that maybe one hotel might contain a child that feasts on blood. There are people who do drink blood and this scenario would make more sense than a person being sown into a mattress. The maid cleaning blood off a mattress felt haunted house like whereas a maid putting bloody sheets into her cart bag and giving the woman a dirty look would have been more realistic and creepy, plus if the woman tried to get a glimpse of the dark room and saw something she wasn't sure was real or not would have worked better. I work as a Housekeeper so I have seen hundreds of guest peek into other rooms just to see if they are all similar or to see what it looked like. This would have been completely normal for me to see, as for maids with attitude, and bloody sheets. Be surprised how many bloody sheets we clean, not soaked of course, but still look

When I first heard that we were going to be doing another speech I honestly was not happy about it at all because like many of you I was ready for school to be done for the summer. I began to think about it though and instantly I had three books that popped into my head and I thought that this assignment was not going to be hard. The three books that came to mind was: Coming Back Stronger: Unleashing the Hidden Power of Adversity written by Drew Brees, Friday Night Lights written by Buzz Bissinger, and the last one was Through My Eyes: A Quarterback’s Journey written by Tim Tebow.…

As a teen, watching scary movies with friends is exciting and fun. After the movie, my friends and I joke around trying to spook each other, or talk about how the movie was too scary to be real. Watching horror for fun is one of the reasons that Stephen King points out in “Why We Crave Horror”. Stephen King has pointed out as a human we crave horror to have some fun, get a feeling of normalcy, and to be able to face our fears. Humans crave horror for another way to have some fun.…

Response to Stephen king’s “Why We Crave Horror Movies” While reading there the paper by Stephen king, I was a little disturbed, there were some jokes that were over bored. However, I do agree with Stephen king statement “we’re all mentally ill”. I believe that everyone has a certain level of mental illness, some more then others. Normally you will see this in kids but adults also have this mentally ill in side them too.…

All the years I’ve lived on Elm Street I have never seen any sign of life in the house across the street, except a family that moved in and moved out only a few weeks later. It’s kind of mysterious actually, and I’ve always wanted to go up to it and walk in to explore. My parents have told me the things they have heard about the house, like there was an “old man whose wife passed away right there in the house, and her spirit still lurks”, maybe that’s why the families have never stayed for more than a month. Sometimes I’ve even caught myself staring at the house from my top window trying to spot things. I want to uncover the real truth about the house that I find myself overwhelmed.…

Horror movies provide a sense of psychic relief into simplicity, irrationality, and insanity that we have as children. As adults, people are conditioned to overanalyze situations with “if, and, but, and or” statements. Everyone has the part of them that is the “potential lyncher,” as King calls it (that dark side of the human ego). Today, individuality is preached and many times encouraged, but what parts of the human being are we, as a society, allowing. Acceptable emotions are encouraged and rewarded in society.…

You hear scary music in your head, making you think something is wrong, could something be around the corner, is someone following you, is a scary clown about to pop out at you (yeah sorry I have a small fear of clowns). You turn the corner and escape the dreaded, cold, and dark area you were just walking through. You were completely safe, so what was the issue, you remember that music, yeah that music playing in your head was making things worse than they actually were.…
