On 12-03-2015 at approximately 1745 hours I Officer Hildebrand, Officer Patrick Sullivan and Sgt. Joseph Harris were dispatched to 630 N D St. for report of an assault in progress. While en route Dispatch notified me saying the male individual assaulting the victim was Kevin Meyer. I had dealt with Kevin Meyer earlier in my shift. While driving East on West Gallatin I spotted Kevin 's pickup headed West on Gallatin.…

What changes for MCbride is he starts to realizes that he can’t stay on the corner his whole life,he realizes that he has to try to make something out of himself. The moment that starts to define him was when he was almost killed messing around at the gas station. If I said I never fail i’d be lying,One example of my failure is when I Failed my Algebra class. I learned that Algebra is extremally extremally hard to learn when A teacher isn’t good at their job and what It takes to be willing even when not willing. I was willing even when I was not because I knew I had to try even if i didn’t get it at all.…
Appendix 3 (p. 17) shows an example of a year 5 pupil’s work on solving angle problems and this child believed to have carelessly estimated instead of using any calculation method on working out the angle when a cake have been cut into pieces on question 2. Her lack of understanding has led her to think that the more slices there are, the bigger the angle. Additionally, even though she correctly answered question 3, her diagram portrayed concerning misunderstanding, for example, her diagram of a 90 degrees angle is marked as 70 degrees, which entails that she may not actually comprehend the definition of a degree in terms of measurement. Another teacher also commented on how children find it difficult to link the term ‘degree’ to both the…
Is there any other history, PE or Lab date you would like to know related to the ED? In today’s society there are many things that impact our views on people and their race. One way that impacts our judgment is implicit attitudes. These attitudes are defined as an assessment towards objects or people that occurs without being consciously aware. To help measure how much implicit attitudes affect people’s judgment three professors: Anthony Greenwald, Mahzarin Banaji, and Brian Nosek co-created the Implicit Association Test.…
Sitting in a hard plastic chair in my math class I felt paralyzed. The heat in the room was unimaginable on the cool autumn day. I could not be the only one that was feeling it. At the same time I could barely keep head straight as the math test stared back at me with harsh eyes telling me “you will never be able to pass this class,” in a slithering tone. A drop of sweat rolled down the side of my face.…
I was assigned to work together with Lisa Adamson and Katie Doherty. My group and I were in charge to teach chapter eight sections four and five. Chapter eight section four was about functions, and chapter eight section five is about coordinate system. Surprisingly, our group previously taught a lesson of a fifth grade math class, and our sections tied into teaching up to the middle and high school level. I enjoyed these sections and I will discuss how I felt working as my group and how I individually performed.…
This past summer I took an algebra class at STC that really boosted my academically confidence. I had gotten quite a few B’s in my last classes and just decided to switch that around and get an A in algebra. I have always liked algebra, but I was never too sure as if I was good enough to get such a high grade. I had an epiphany where I thought about my future. I thought about how if I wanted to succeed, I needed to try harder and push myself.…
When I entered Grade 12, I decided to take Advanced Placement Calculus in Grade 12 because I wanted to challenge myself and absorb more knowledge in mathematics. I was a bit ambitious and confident all along because math is a thing which I addicted. However, when I was sitting in this dreamed class on the first day, I felt overwhelmed. The course is too challenging and the teacher speaking too fast, there are too many information in every single class. My grade started to go down and I almost give up.…
I remember when I was 5, the first time I went to a building daily for 8 hours. I sat down on the cold blue chair. In front of me was a bin of crayons, all the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and purple. I remember sitting in the cold room and having the freedom to draw marks on my blank sheet of paper. The dye scratching against the table, colors spreading across the canvas like the sun, rising in the early morning.…
Algebra 1 was a very difficult subject and concept for me to grasp. I struggled very hard, but still could not understand. I spent numerous hours studying, hoping that I finally understood the materials. I felt like I was a failure. I tried asking my teacher for assistance, but he never really helped me.…
My childhood memories regarding learning mathematics has been for the most part positive from 6th grade onwards. From 1st grade to 5th grade I was not conscientious so at times math tests produced anxiety but math was, at the same time, easier and simpler back then. I recall being the fastest person to state the multiplication tables in 4th grade. During 6th to 8th grade, although I was not necessarily the smartest, I landed at the top of the class in advance math since I was very hard working. However in 9th grade I recalled a horrific incident.…
I completed my ten-hour class observation at the private school Georgia Military Prep. The Georgia Military Prep School is located on Georgia Military College’s main campus in Milledgeville. At GMC prep I observed Ms. Jennifer Spencer's advanced eighth grade math class. Ms. Spencer has a decidedly pleasant air about her, a quick smile, and a brisk step that belies her ‘let us get the job done’ type attitude. On my first day observing her class, I soon gathered that Ms. Spencer always has a goal in mind when she sets foot in the classroom.…
Some people may think that since I am majoring in mathematics I’ve always been good at math. Surprisingly that is not my case, my interest in math was not developed until I my mid teenage years. Currently math is my favorite and strongest subject academically. In this paper I will share my history with math; throughout it, I will discuss my good and bad years of math, how my interest in math started, the persons who inspired me the most to follow this field and how math have made an impact in my life. Starting with my bad years, when I was in elementary I remembered I struggled a lot in my math classes.…
