Introduction My last semester at Middle Georgia State University as an undergraduate student was filled with a wonderful opportunity to intern with the Bibb County Sheriff Department. My internship experienced was supervised under the leadership of Cindy Gresham, the executive assistant of the agency. My friends and I were at my friend Alex’s house we were all ready to play some airsoft we all already arrived in our gear. My gear consisted of british armor infantry desert BDUs (Battle dressed uniform) a face mask, a boone hat, a military grade vest and, a desert camo backpack which held water, snacks, and pellets. I had also brought my tormentor, an automatic rifle with a semi automatic mode and a pump action fire for close quarters, but we made a rule at close quarters you can only have pistols. Over the course of my high school career, I’ve had many opportunities to show my capabilities as a leader. As a junior, I was the First Sergeant of Alpha Company. In the city of Atlanta, there is a young man named Sean`who has settled there his entire life and adapted to the dangerous drug based lifestyle that has been in his city long before he was ever born. His parent's who were so involved in the drug trade that engulfed and surrounded them were sadly never there for sean which forced his older brother Steven, A gang banger that helped run a trap house where drugs and guns are sold, to raise Sean and bring him in to what was basically the family curse. Every morning I am up early, before anyone else in my household. Even before my husband, William, I let him sleep, he will wake up when he needs to. If I notice anyone heading outside to work and he's not up at that time, I will start worrying. This ride along was a perfect opportunity to get a closer look at my local police force and understand what exactly police officers do. When I heard about this opportunity I was a little hesitant because when I picture a ride along I automatically think danger. So when I got the email saying that my ride along with University of Maryland Police Department was schedule for December 6th at 6pm, I realized it was exactly happening. When I was walking to the station it was raining so I knew there were going to be possible accidents because people tend to drive worse when its raining.
