Personal Narrative: After Recording My Hours Of Sleep

After recording my hours of sleep, I realized that I am not getting enough; especially because the week of October 6, 2015 was considered a good week- I did not have as much homework as usual. This worries me because I am a growing teenager who needs sleep in order to be healthy. I tend to daydream a lot and I am also forgetting information in a short amount of time. Due to tracing my sleep, I have come to realize why this is occurring. I try to go to bed as early as possible, but with all of the homework and studying I have, along with sports and after school activities, it is nearly impossible. To make up for all of this time, I will get as much sleep on the weekends and I will also try to take naps. Once I get to college, I will do what I am starting to do now, which is going to bed earlier and waking up earlier so it will be easier to retain the information that I am studying. Sleep is going to be my number one priority now that I know how much of an effect that it is having on my life. On October 8, 2015 I had a very vivid dream that I remember clearly. At sunset, I was walking to my boat with my mom’s best friend, whom I call Aunt Jenny. She is a business lady who is pretty much addicted to her phone, but in this case, her five phones. It is my favorite time. After being done with homework and studying it is my opportunity to relax and think about anything that I want to. I am able to let my mind wander and plan. It is my quiet time when I am most at peace. I am planning on getting more of it. When the water polo practices start soon, the exercise will help me concentrate and focus on homework more so I will be able to finish it in a shorter amount of time.
