Personal Narrative After King Tut's Death

The year was 1324 B.C, a year after King Tut’s death. Everyone was mourning including my mother.

“Nedjem!” my mother called as she began to cook breakfast. Father had already left to farm, and baby User had already awoke. My mother could not get over Tut’s death. Each day she mourned as if he would hear her and decide to come back.

I could go in, and get something to give to mother! I turned around and headed for the tomb once more. As I tip-toed inside I got a very uneasy feeling about why lie before me.

I looked at the book of the dead with mischief cooking in my brain, “That’s it,” I whispered to myself reaching out to grab it, “I’ll give her that.” As my fingers touched the rough pages it suddenly went dark, quiet, and cold. The sun’s burning rays beat down on us as we dug through the layers of Egyptian sand and rock. We had only begun the excavation the previous day and had already uncovered one-fifth of the ancient pyramid. I, as well as a team of high-ranking archaeologists, had accompanied Sarah Parcak in an expedition to unearth a lost Egyptian pyramid. “How’s your section of the chamber coming along, Erica? We’ve just uncovered a new sarcophagus,” remarked Sarah as she passed by, carrying a large coffin.…

(Prompt 3) People run around like well-oiled machines. Their brains compute the actions they take, and their bodies follow the courses they chart. What happens, though, when there’s a glitch in the system? How can we stand firm against what’s inside our own minds and hearts? My mother taught me how to be strong, just as An-Mei Hsu’s mother does in The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.…

The story begins as, anyone who enters King Tut’s final resting place, shall be punished for eternity. Because he is king so they didn’t want the pharaoh to be mad or disturbed. But scientists obviously didn’t believe this myth. They said inside the tomb, hot wind occurs, simply because cooler air entered the tomb, pushing out the hot air. All this dirty air inside the tomb, which has been inside for a very long time, might have affected the lungs of those who entered, in wich might have been poison inside the huge tomb.…

Tutankhamun was born in 1346 BC. It is believed that Tut had a good beginning of his childhood, where he likely spent his time hunting, swimming, studying and playing board games. Due to the many walking canes discovered in his tomb many years after his time, people think that Tut must have been an ill, weak child. When Tutankhamun’s father, Akhenaten, passed away in 1334 BC, 7 year-old Tut had to step up and take his father’s place as pharaoh. He ruled over Ancient Egypt, a country located in North Africa, on the Mediterranean Sea.…

Anecdotes, stories, novels, and other grandeur forms of art often bring out many different emotions and feelings such as happiness, sympathy, pain, and horror. Books such as “ the Yellow Wallpaper” by Charlotte Stetson and “the Dead” by James Joyce lead to create a maudlin environment within the book by discussing mawkish topics such as pain and restraint. In the yellow wallpaper, one of the main themes is constraint, an element that leads to the antagonist to lose sanity, “ "I 've got out at last," said I, "in spite of you and Jane. And I 've pulled off most of the paper, so you can 't put me back!"’ (Stetson, 656).…

I attempted to call to my mother, Ceres, but it was pointless, she was never going to hear the startled cry of her beloved child. The pitiful cry would not have done much anyway, for the peculiar man who had just sprung from the hole in the ground leapt down from his chariot and scooped me right up. Off we galloped, and as we did, I cried and cried out again, hoping by some miracle my dearest mother would hear me and come to my rescue. He promised me flowers made of pearls and all the riches one could want, but all I wanted to do was climb into the lap of my dearest mother, Ceres.…

Hello and marhaban simple peasant folk, I am King Akhenaten, originally known as Amenhotep IV. I was born in 1385 B.C. to Amenhotep III and Queen Tiyi. I was, debatably, crowned to the throne of Egypt in 1367 B.C. at the age of 18, but it was only because my older brother Thutmose, the original crown prince, was the victim of an early death (deja vu). I married Queen Nefertiti (and others), and my six daughters were the princesses Meketaten, Meritaten, Ankhesenpaten, Neferneferuaten minor, Neferneferure, and Satenpenre. Unfortunately, four of them died during my reign.…
