Last year while in a study group for an accounting exam, somehow the subject of adoption came up. Everyone in the group, coincidently, was either adopted or their parents were adopted; it was strange! For some reason, that sparked my quest to look for Katherine, my biological grandmother, again. I went home and immediately started looking. My mom had a picture of her birth mom’s senior picture. On the back, it said, “Travis County Airforce Base”. A light bulb went off and I started to look for all the high schools near that air force base; I found four. I did an online search of all the yearbooks until I finally found her senior picture. She had an uncommon last name so I checked the entire book to see if she had any siblings. Luckily, there was a boy with the same last name. His name was Mike.
