Growing up I loved to watch re-runs of the Addams Family on television. The reason I loved this quirky, yet comical show is clearly in the title. Obviously, the familiarity with the name “Addams” was an instant connection. But really, it was the word “Family”. This macabre and bizarre family was not your traditional television family, and that is what I loved. Growing up my family was not traditional, at least in my mind … not compared with my friends. My father was born in the Middle East so there was always flair for the dramatic in everything he said and did. Our house was full of unusual memorabilia and furnishing from “the old country”.
