Personal Narrative: AIM Cheerleading

Ever since I was little I strived to become a gymnast. Unfortunately, we could afford the classes nor could we be able to go to practices because the destination was too far away. As if it were meant to be, that same day a flier came home with me for AIM Cheerleading. My mother glanced over it and she decided to enroll me. Because it was a small association, the price was affordable. It was a thursday when my mom and i had went to Bonair Elementary because that was where practise for cheerleading took place. This was my first time being part of a team like this and as a seven year old i was very nervous. As I walked through the doors of Bonair Elementary, I saw the coach and two other kids who were previously on the team. They were a lot bigger than me and I felt intimidated. The only contact I have with them is through cheer, and they don't live that close either so hanging out with each other would be tough. Confused, I'm not sure where to go with cheerleading, hopefully it’ll all work out in the

Many people didn’t consider the thing I love the most, the thing that drives and pushes me to be the best in life, and the thing that many people live for not a sport. The thing frustrating me the most is when people think Allstar Cheerleading is not a sport and they are usually the ones that don’t understand what it takes to be an Allstar Cheerleader and why it is in fact a sport. As the advancement in Cheerleading came full force into the world, during the early 1980s, there were many Cheerleading squads that were not associated with their school programs. These squads main focus and objective was the competition side of Cheerleading.…

The cheer camp will help kids learn the basic skills they will need to know for any squad they decide to cheer on. Along with the dance camps will allow kids to learn hip-hop and jazz dances from the Redskin Cheerleaders that they can maybe incorporate into their own school cheerleading performances!
