Personal Narrative: A Walk Through The Woods

Decent Essays
This was my first time hiking through the woods. so far i loved the scenery of the wilderness. The waterfall was crystal clear and the mud was melted chocolate. The air was like i have never seen before. In the city it is impossible to breath because there are no trees, and the air is polluted because us humans destroy it. I was not used to walking this far. My legs were like jelly, My knees were about to give out. I felt like a eighty year old woman. For the most part it was not too bad. We walked on for at least another two hours. I was about to go crazy because I heard the birds chirping for two hours and it seemed like we were out there for three days. This was starting to become terrible. The birds were chirping and the heat was melting

It is a warm, sunny day with a slight breeze in the air. You hear the sound of laughter, the sound of bicyclists riding by, the sound of running feet on the paved trails. You see the lush Cypress, Oak, and Pecan trees garnishing the trails as you go by. You can smell the wildflowers growing in the fields, and sometimes, you can even see the wildlife on quiet mornings or evenings. It is a beautiful place to relax, ride, hike, run, or just get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.…

The air smells like sage and pine -- fresh and crisp, overpowers the salty, moist smell of the other hikers who have been outside just as long as I. The trail is dusty and smooth as we walk up it. Feeling a cool breeze rustling through the tall trees, I get a slight chill but it feels good during a hot day. Finally on our fourth day it was time for the infamous day hike; previous campers and staff had been talking about it forever.…

I took a hike on the High Acres nature path, with my Mom, Sister and golden retriever, Tobey. When I first entered the trail, the path started really wide and began to get narrower. Along both sides of the trail were big tall weeds hanging over and rubbing against you. When we were getting close to the pond you could hear the different types of birds chirping, grasshoppers clicking, and bullfrogs croaking. We approached our first intersection, and decided to go left on to the old, white, wooden bridge.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…
