Personal Narrative: A Truck Made Me Who I Am Today

Improved Essays
This truck made me who I am today by the way I got it and the way I have lost it. I got this truck for my seventeenth birthday from my parents. The only catch was that I had to help them pay for the insurance. I payed the insurance for three months, three hundred a month. After that last month I realized that it might be a little much to do. I had to work almost everyday just to make enough for it. Then I had left my parents house and they took the truck back from me. It was a big relief off of my shoulders. I’m glad I had the truck in my possession because it made me have more responsibility. Also to manage my money more and not to just blow it on random things. It also showed me not to take things for granted, and not to ruin your own things …show more content…
They have given me a place to live for the last six months. They have made me who I am today because they have taught me that even though some situations can get tough that I should never quit fighting for what I believe in. They have been the biggest support for me through all the drama. Most people would say things about their parents but not me. My parents gave up on me, let me down in many different ways. So my grandparents have stepped up for them and even though I can’t say how my two brothers and sister are doing. I know I am in a better place. They’ve also taught me to have more respect for everyone. They made me realize that people are going to be there for you no matter what even if you have made mistakes in the past. They have made everything so much easier for me by thm stepping up and taking care of me. When I moved out six months ago I had absolutely nothing. They took me in and have brought me everything that I have now. I went from having a full wardrobe to nothing to having a full wardrobe again. They know how to keep me motivated and not down like how I was in the beginning. They have been there for me through everything. From the very beginning from when I meet them when I was three to right now with me living with …show more content…
I love everything about it. It’s one of the ways we all bond. My favorite team is the Green Bay Packers. If I could I’d play football, but it’s okay I’d rather be on the sideline cheering. Aaron Rodgers is my favorite player; also he is my role model. He taught me that even when it’s fourth and ten and we are down fourteen points with ten minutes left to not give up and push forward even if you don’t think you’ll make it. He is the playmaker for his team. Everyone in my family refers to him as my man. I think it’s funny but then we got the haters in the world that want to talk trash. There’s always a time in the season where he has a mustache and I call it the unlucky mustache. One year I tweeted him about it and he didn’t respond to it but the next game it was gone. I think it had enough controversy that he changed it. He doesn’t let things get him down even if it is the worst news. Like a few weeks ago when one of my other favorite players for hurt and he won’t be in for the rest of the season, he just help his head up high and kept everyone else motivated: he said it would be a loss but that they would get through it in the end. Aaron took the stop of Brett Favre, he had big shoes to fill in. He hasn’t let any fans down so far, he is one of the best quarterbacks. He had a major setback last year with his collarbone injury but he never gave up and stayed motivated so he could come back stronger. The team did go downhill

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

Two years ago I was a completely different person. That may sound like a complete exaggeration, but looking back on the person who carried my name two years ago, it is shockingly true. Two years ago, I was the quiet, overweight, anxious girl who avoided social interaction as if it was the plague. Needless to say, I was not the most confident or outgoing person out there. I let my anxiety disorder rule my life, and let my weight be an excuse as to why I couldn’t do certain things.…
