A Ride of A Lifetime
“WOOOOO!” The familiar students from my school hooted and hollered from the seats in front and in back of me. The ride hadn’t even begun, yet that didn’t stop them from voicing their excitement. I on the other hand sat as content as possible. Trying to conceal my mixed emotions of excitement and nervousness. I’ve always told myself that I would NEVER get on a roller coaster in my life, but here I was encased in the supposable safe orange bars that would prevent me from flying off the ride. “I’m so excited!” My former friend Jazz exclaimed as we began ascending sluggishly forward.

Not only regret for teasing Jazz about the ride, but for also being so eager to want to go on the ride in the first place. It was also within that moment I began thinking of the worse possible accidents that could occurred on roller coasters. People suddenly plummeting to their death after their seat belts failed to keep them down, carts unexpectedly flying off the hinges, and even whole roller coasters collapsing all together.
But the most dramatic accident that kept replaying in my head was that of the roller coaster scene in Final Destination 3. And even though it was a movie it was always the primary reason why I never allowed myself to go on a roller coaster to begin with. I try to shake the unwanted thoughts away, but they kept recurring as we finally made it to the top of the highest part of the entire ride. If I hadn’t been breathing so rapidly, I could have sworn my heart stopped beating. I could see the entire park from where I sat. Along with the odd mixers of small colorful dots all scattered throughout the park. I could also see cars off to the side driving peacefully just beyond the fence along the
