Personal Narrative: A Personal Experience Of Immigrants During World War II

Part 4: The two events that caught my attention was when the Americans arrived and how much relief and they were. Some Germans who were alive felt guilty about it because why did were they alive? Were they lucky? There was this one Jewish girl. She wasn't happy when the Americans arrived. She was lonely and stayed in the camps. The video didn't tell us why she exactly she felt this. I feel like she was sad because all of her family and friends has died and she was the only one alone. She didn't know what to do next once she has been released. I probably felt lost, hopeless, lonely, and depressed because she has lost the closest people because they were forced to go to the concentration camps. Another event that caught my attention was that …show more content…
Those 75% of European-Jews were children, babies, and adults. Even how the Jews were killed is the worst thing to hear after the died. Babies were thrown into flames like it was no big idea. I would be terrify just watching it. The SS officer hung Jews in public too. That would make me feel uncomfortable to watch.

Part 5: One event that has the greatest impact on me was when SS officers were killing babies and infants. When I hear and saw this I thought they were heartless human beings and I was questioning why? Then I realize they were all forced and brainwashed to do that. Nazis children were brainwashed by the schools and propaganda posters into thinking Jewish people are terrible. Hitler had brainwashed many people into thinking the Jews were bad using stereotypes to define a person who didn't do anything to that other person. In today's everyone uses stereotypes on groups as a joke or for real including me. I mistaken people just by looks and how they act towards other people. I'm not afraid to admit. I'm not going to say I've never judge someone by their looks or how they act. Everyone's human and everyone's makes stupid mistakes, but why didn't anyone stop Hitler from making these

We have been learning about the Holocaust and World War 2 for many years as part of our social studies curriculum. Most of us probably, and I hope, know that this was a bad thing for Hitler to do and be a part of. You always feel more empathy and sadness when you actually read documentaries about people that have experienced this terrible time. The story Night by Elie Wiesel shares her personal experiences of being kicked out of her hometown and being transported to the camps, what happened at the camps and the impact it had on her, and how there was so much death going on and barely anybody survived. Hungary a place where Jews are happily living their lives until the German armies take it all over.…

In the novella, Night by Elie Wiesel, the author paints an unforgettable image of suffering and despair that he, as well as other Jews, encountered while in a concentration camp during the Nazi regime. As hard as it is to believe something so evil occurred, the movie The Devil 's Arithmetic gave a face to all these horrific events that occurred and it leaves a impact on the viewers. In both the novella and the movie share questions that are relevant to each its own way. The first question is " Why is it important for the next generation to remember that millions of Jews were killed in concentration or death camps?", it is important for everyone to know about this simply to stop the naysayers and stop it from occurring again.…

The first segment that had an effect on me was The Wounded Knee Massacre. The Wounded Knee Massacre is painful to hear and read about for me because it involved the murder of many innocent and unarmed women and children and it all happened because of an accidental gun discharge. America’s battle with the Native American’s could have all been avoided if we were not so bent on expanding and acquiring as much land as possible and respected the fact that they were there first. The second segment was the almost lynching of James Cameron and the lynching of Thomas Shipp and Abram Smith. The picture that was showed was that of Thomas and Abram and it is really upsetting to see.…

I remember the day as if it was yesterday. The year was 1941, and as I sat and tried to eat my breakfast I watched with fear as my mother spoke to my father, her voice trembling, she talked about how Yugoslavia had been invaded by the Axis powers, and was now being split into occupational homes. My father, while trying to hold back tears, was attempting to calm my mother down. I, even only being 16, knew very well what was happening, as I had constantly listened to my parents talk privately about the current events that were happening, and I was no way prepared for it. Later the next day my family had started to pack.…

The Nazi’s extermination and torture of Jews and other’s lasted for a period of twelve years. “The principal images you see today of the Holocaust are of barbed wire, disease-ridden barracks, malnourished prisoners, gas chambers and crematoria’s.” (Levi, 535) This is different from the atomic bombings because the effects of the bombs were still being seen seventy years later. The value of the survivor testimonies from these tragic events in history is to remember the effects that Warfare has on civilian population, it is important to record each survivors experience as to add to the big picture of the brutality of men of power before the survivors are forgotten, and remember what can happen if tyranny and technology are not kept in check by the morals of the…
