Personal Narrative: A New Team

A New Team As I walked into the cold frosty gym, I couldn't get my mind off how excited I was to be back. It was the middle of March so it was halfway past the competition season. I was only able to compete three more meets since I was joining back so late. As I kept walking through the the gym, shivering like crazy, I heard the team talking and giggling in the other room. I walked towards the noise and everyone saw me and it got so quiet in the room you could hear a pin drop if dropped on the ground. Then everyone smiled and gave me a warm nice hug and they all explained how happy they were to see me. The most important one that had the most caring words was Ellie, my best friend. "Hey girly." Ellie said. "Hey!" I replied. As we talked and talked, we got back into the swing of things and our friendship was the same as we left it in 7th grade. …show more content…
We became good friends in the gym and outside the gym. Everything was going so well and the I ruined it all when I quit gymnastics. I quit because most of my friends were at dance and I have danced for 9 years and only did gymnastics for 3 years. Also I switched because my dance teacher would be disappointed if I left. It was about 6 months into the dance season when I noticed I wasn't even in the same dance class with my friends, just always with the kids who were in high school. Even though she thought I was a good dancer, I would like to be with my friends instead of people you don't really know. So from that point on I decided gymnastics was a better choice for me instead of dance. The only hardest part of switching was telling my dance teacher in person, it was so difficult I started crying and couldn't control my big fat tears. It was nice when it was all over and got to join back to gymnastics, and to continue doing the sport I

Hi Ema, I really enjoyed your post as you gave a really good insight as to what a true long-term friendship is. It's amazing that your friendship with her lasted so long and is still going on. I'm glad that although you two drifted apart you were able to connect again. I had a friend I was really close to when I was younger while I was in middle school and we stayed friends until the beginning of college when we drifted apart as we had different outlooks. I haven't spoken to her since then but I'm really glad although you guys got separated again in high school you were able to maintain your friendship going.…

When I was in the first grade, I was considered a goody two-shoes because I followed all the rules and got good grades, but I never really believed that I deserved the nickname until one day on the playground. My friends and I decided to play Follow the Leader. As we continued to play the game, we started to sing all of the songs we had learned in class. I began to wonder, are we allowed to sing outside during recess?…

Moving here from North Carolina when I was four changed my life completely, I was away from my family who I lived with my whole life, thrown into a school with a bunch of kids who lived here since they were born and told to “make friends.” This changed the next 13 years of my life to something I can never picture not having. The first four years, both my parents had full time jobs and my grandma helped raise me a lot, she taught me so many manners and how to behave, she even ended up living across the street from me for 2 of those years, they were rough for my parents, new baby, just moving, having to find jobs, making friends, and getting food on the table for me. Thats where my amazing family came in, with bringing home cooked meals…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

The place where I spend my days is enclosed from the rest of the public. A place, that leaves my forehead trickling down with sweat. Where the wire fences carry windscreens, at the height of seven feet. A height that should prevent balls from escaping the cage. On the ground, lays a foundation of smooth cement colored a soft shade of red with six green rectangles reaching the length of 75ft.…

As an entirely new coaching staff other than one coach. We did not know anything about the pink idea, so to have it thrown at us the day before a game left us with very few options. I'm sorry we did not communicate with the parents, that was a mistake on our part. However, I don't understand how I have been unapproachable all season as I send out reminders of changes days in advance of them and quickly respond to any questions/concerns sent my way. My contact information was given out at the beginning of the year so questions and concerns can be dealt with efficiently.…

I had made friends with three other girls and my now best friend, and we were a cool little group of five. I made a friend with a quiet girl who was and still is as sweet as sugar and our friendship is one that’s been solid throughout the years. I made a guy friend who was very dear to my heart; he was my best guy friend, maybe even my best friend, since everyone else was always in their other groups. I also became friends with everyone else in the class, because after a few short weeks together in every class, our program became more like a little family and high school seemed a lot less…
