Classroom Student Report

This term has been quite interesting, I got to come into a new classroom, with new kids, all younger than me. I was an intern in Mrs. Holzbauerś 8th grade class at Nature Hill Intermediate. As an 8th grader myself, I enjoyed having Mrs. Holzbauer as my teacher. I always aimed to be like Mrs. Holzbauer, in the sense that she is very positive and always so encouraging, without being strict or boring. I entered this classroom without many of the qualities I possess now. A lot of these qualities are desirable not only in the classroom, but in the workplace as well. Many experiences in Mrs. Holzbauerś class have definitely taught me to be more patient. Being patient is different than being tolerant. When you hear the saying, ¨patience is a virtue¨ …show more content…
Staying organized in the classroom makes it easier to get things done in a timely matter and it also allows you to properly teach. As well as in the classroom, in the workplace you need to be organized so that you can get your tasks accomplished in a timely manner. It is important for you as an employee to be able to complete your work on your own in the time that is given to you by your employer. Employers do not tolerate having a worker that is unable to finish their tasks in the time provided is not acceptable, and could possibly cost you your job. If youŕe not organized, other people might find it hard to approach you. In a classroom setting it is especially important to be approachable so that kids feel comfortable coming to you for questions or help. Generally, people who are more approachable are more likable. Being open and friendly can help improve your ability to have other people come to you for help. If your coworkers and team members don 't feel comfortable coming to you, then how can anything get done? This is why being approachable is a valued quality in a teacher or an …show more content…
I acquired a deeper sense of patience, responsibility and became more tolerant. Patience was undoubtedly not a strong suit for me at the beginning of the term. Working with many children that require a different learning style or did not have the capabilities that most average students hold, I have grown to have better ways to being patient. When you work with multiple students, it is hard for all of them, at once, to be able to grasp every lesson that is thrown their way. Giving the few students who needed it, more time to understand and learn, gave me more patience. This goes along with tolerance, which is also hard to have. Having been placed with a group of students to teach alone, gave them the opportunity to sometimes not behave the best. Some days they wouldn 't listen to me. I have grown to be more tolerant and calm when having students listen to the lesson I am trying to teach. Being alone to teach a group of students is a huge responsibility. As a oldest sister of four, I have always held some type of responsibility. Although I have always been a big sister, never have I ever had such big responsibilities since this term. When Mrs. Holzbauer allowed me to teach a group of my own really made me realize how far I had come in being a responsible

As a result, caring for and knowing each student will help me adjust lessons to make them appealing to both individuals and the class. In doing this, it will help each student feel welcome and at home in the classroom. With this though, there is an emphasis on the importance of patience. Some days will be more challenging than others, but the next day will always bring a chance to start fresh. 2.…

I am a prek teacher and with it, I like to do things "my way". I have an assistant and I take in her thoughts and opinions about a certain topic, but I feel I know how each and every child learns so I make her ideas fit their learning style. I like to do things fast-paces and it is difficult at times for my assistant to keep up. After reading about the way I learn and finding out the kind of learner I am, I find it satisfying to know that I might clash with others while finishing a project, assignment, or even just daily planning just by how we learn. Therefore, since I now have a reason for it, I can fix it before it gets out of control.…

Therefore, when we were all organizing the room, I was a little hesitant to tell everyone what needs to be done; and if something was not in the right place, I just shifted it myself without telling the person who placed it wrongly. Shifting and moving things continued for about two hours and then I got tired of it, me trying to place the items at their designated spot without telling everyone made organizing a long and difficult process. I noticed not much was getting done; hence, this made me realize that maybe it would be better if I tell everyone what needs to be done and how the staff likes it. After I told everyone what we should do, we all worked as a team and finished everything in 4 hours. I was really proud of everyone, and happy about how efficiently we could all work together.…

The setting of my 2nd focus child was a Little Bucs in the preschool room (Inventors) in the classroom, but we did visit the ETSU library during my first observation. They are 48 months-60 months. I observed a 48 month old, male. I will refer to the student I observed as "P." I observed from 10:00-11:30 both sessions. The classroom was reasonably big, but the floor was opened with toys and an upstairs area where the students can go and hang up there.…

I considered myself as an organized person at work, but I thought that the staff there were more organized than me. To make my job easier, I organized clients’ folders in alphabetical order by their last names so when they asked me about their case, I would know where to pull the folder from. Another thing that I noticed while being an intern at ILCM was that answering clients’ questions was an everyday task. After reading immigration stuff and working there, I was able to provide answers to clients when they have questions regarding immigration. For example, a client might ask about public benefits for immigrant.…

After reading the article, "What does it mean to be a good teacher" by Tracey Garrett, I believe that the most important behavior of an effective teacher is the ability to establish order without being overly rigid. In a classroom, before learning can take place, teachers must create a safe, structured, and communicative learning environment for their strudents. If an environment is chaotic, learning will most likely not take place. I have observed many types of learning environments, some of which were very structured and others of which were not. The learning environments that lacked structured included very little successful teaching days.…

When other students would ask something she was very impatient and critical of them if she felt that she had already addressed the student’s question. Her preferential treatment of students was both annoying and distracting. These actions are blameworthy for the simple reason of equality and fairness, especially in the classroom. A necessary part of education is the teacher to student interaction. Throughout the school year in Mrs. M’s class, her preferential treatment of students took away from the otherwise effectiveness of her teaching.…

Classroom management is crucial for every teacher to have in a successful learning environment. I believe that students need to be controlled and disciplined; students at this age need to be guided in the right path. They are capable of self-discipline but need to be shown what the rules of the classroom are and what is the expectation of the teacher. I believe that students are basically good but that the environment around them influences them tremendously. If they maintain busy with instruction then they will not have time to be disruptive and they need to be guided to behave appropriately.…
