A Mustang
Life can end in a heartbeat. People that acknowledge this usually do more in their lives to make up for that time they won't have, and it can be as simple and being more active in your community, or learning something new that interests you. This is what I’ve done. From teaching myself to play guitar to making artwork from clay, I've filled my life with things that interest me and that have opened up new opportunities for me in life.
When first starting out my highschool years, I was told by my parents that my highschool life was my design. That it would be the best time of my life if I wanted it to be. To do this they said I had to take advantage of every opportunity for an education at my school. My first step into shaping my highschool

Through ceramics I was able to help organize and build the sets for the school plays and assemblies as the teacher had a workshop on campus. It was fun to be able to see something I worked on be used to entertain so many people. Not only was I able to help my school with its plays and assemblies but i was able to be a student of not only a great teacher, but a great mentor. As an art teacher, he taught me to express myself in anyway that felt fun. This, along with a lot of support from my family, lead to me practicing and playing music today. My favorite instrument has ran in the family for some time now, as my grandfather and my uncle both played the guitar. From my family, my uncle was always my main supporter to play the guitar. He played every day and with a passion, i try to do the same with my spare …show more content…
Because of this I was able to help organize pep rallies and sport invites at my school. I shared many ideas with my ASB director and he made a few changes himself. In unison with my ideas, his role, and the help of fellow students, we were able to set up an afterschool program that helped students that had spare time, after school. We set up a room full of speakers, pool tables, couches, and tv’s for students to hang out. A sort of lounge. Every few days me and my friends would host a pool tournament after school. It was some of the most fun I’d ever had at school.
I try to replicate this feeling of community at all the sports and clubs I join. I am very fortunate and to have so far lived the life I have. I have been able to learn from many great people, not just teachers and mentors but family and friends. I've had many chances to give back to the community I was raised in and have taken all that I can fit into my life, and even though I might be far from that school that I grew up in, I will always be a

In my American government class, we use the term political socialization to describe the influence one’s family has on their own political identity. Although the political aspect of political socialization remains exclusive to the term, the concept that families have a profound influence on the social development of children is wide-ranging, even helping explain people's perceived value of a college education. In my own life, the expected influence of my family's experience with higher education on my own outlook never took. My family's own experience has presented me with both opportunities and challenges in pursuing my educational goals as well as testing the integrity of the goals.…

My first car was something that I greatly was looking forward to getting as a child and my interest in getting one grew, as the days got closer to my sixteenth birthday. The first car I owned was a Automatic Black 2004 Ford f-150 truck, which I discovered on a website called Craigslist. It was priced at five thousand nine hundred dollars with only eighty-four thousand miles on it, which in my case was great considering that I could only afford a seven thousand dollar car. The truck came with all manual locks and windows and also had a small amount of hail damage that could really only be seen at a certain angle. But even with reasonable price on the truck I still attempted to negotiate for an even lower price to further my luck.…

The fun and exciting world of car shopping, or so I thought. I was young, determined, and on a mission. I didn’t stop to consider words like value and depreciation, let alone the possible electronic, mechanical, and physical issues that might occur. Purchasing my Jeep Patriot will forever be one major event I wish I could go back and change. From the time I received my driver’s license until a significant time after I graduated high school I drove a 1998 Honda Accord.…

Being an equestrian has been a huge part of my life ever since I can remember. I have gone from competing at small local shows with a small team to competing at national levels under trainers that travel all over the northeast. Being an equestrian has given me the ability to see what a small investment can become through diligence and perseverance. When I was 12 I went to the All American Quarter Horse Congress and competed. This was a huge competition and some of the people there had horses that likely cost more than my own house.…

About a year and a half ago I received a phone call from Sarah, my trainer. She was rambling on about this horse saying, “he’s perfect for you” and “you need to come and see him.” When I finally went out to the barn to see him, I was shocked. He was very skinny and malnourished, his hooves were overgrown, and he had absolutely no training. As soon as I looked into his eyes, I saw a completely different side to this horse.…

My how school life comprised of friends, family, homework, tests, and regrettably not enough studying. I lived in a household that was being torn apart slowly, yet no matter the situation I was always told “make sure you keep studying to do well in school”. My family always cared about me and did their best to encourage me for school and to have studying be an important part of my life. However, being a teenager, I always thought differently, it was important, but not the sole purpose of high school. Although looking back, I should have definitely made it significantly more important than what it was.…

My high school experience, as of now, has been pretty good considering that I had to make some changes to how I view education and its importance.
