It was January of 2016 when I arrived to the high school practice fields to tryout for the varsity soccer team. I had already been cut the year before so I was even more determination to make the team this year. Also, I performed well in preseason training so I was hoping for a better outcome. I had two days to try and prove myself to coach and accomplish a goal that I had failed to achieve to the year before. During the whole tryout I was so focused on proving myself to everyone that I deserved to be on the team rather than focusing on playing to the best of my ability. Tryouts had ended and again I made the junior varsity team and failed to accomplish the goal of playing in my high school’s stadium as a varsity player.

It was my chance to play at the highest level in the country. During the tryouts, my skills were sharp, all my passes were connecting and I was dribbling by players effortlessly. I could tell my skills had improved because I was performing at a high level against some of the state's best. After 2 days I made the team and that's when I knew all my hard work paid off.
