AP Chemistry has made me realize that you need to work hard for the things you want. AP Chemistry is by far the hardest class I have ever taken. It was full of hard concepts and ideas that I could not seem to understand. Most times, I stayed up studying for tests until three in the morning. My teacher had tests that were based on past AP exams and in order to reach the highest score, a five, you usually needed to get a minimum percentage of seventy percent.…

I started attending Lone star college right after high school, at first, I began with the typical high school graduate state of mind, which was that college was going to be a breeze and that it would all be fun and games; more worried about what was going on in my social life rather than studying the books. Especially since I had no real responsibilities to handle or much life experience. Around my first year of college, I started dating this girl and not long after we conceived our first son. Once this happened, my focus slowly shifted from school to working a full-time job at a welding shop in order to provide for my family. I still tried to attend class but was unable to find the balance between work, school and family and this reflected my grades.…

As a child of a former football player of the Kansas State Wildcats, it was inarguable to wear purple to every game day versus Baylor. Although my father thought I would be desire to become a future wildcat one day, little did he know with every game the opposite was occurring. On a sweltering summer day in the City of Atlanta or the “ATL” as it is affectionately known today, I visited my best friend while he visited his father for the summer. That day I remember vividly because as soon as we stepped outside of the airport to take the “MARTA” train, I began to sweat profusely. Anyone that has been to Atlanta during the summer knows it is incredibly humid there. A week earlier I had seen my friend, and we planned out what we were going to do that week I visited. I knew I wanted to visit Spellman College, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morris Brown College, but before I could visit the Atlanta University Center or the “AUC” as it is called to the locals, I felt compelled to visit the grave site of one of the most influential human being to walk this earth.…
