Mahatma Gandhi once said "Where there is love there is life." In my case where there is funny wedding traditions, there is life. In my family we have the most unusual weddings. It's not what you imagine it to be, it's way more prodigious.Though we could do it in a more normal way, we choose not to.Why, because who wants to go to a normal wedding when you could go to a Pakistani wedding, with my family.

" Amina, are you ready yet,"my cousin asked me. "No, did you know how hard it is to put this dress on," I told her in shock. "Let me help you," she offered. I let her help me because I didn't know how to put on this heavy dress. I stood there waiting for her to zip it up, and thought to myself. I wondered if my mom really had to hold a type of decorated basket thing, on her head. That was to be carried by the groom's brothers wife. I wondered if we really had to go with a marching band to another village. Is that not embarassing? With those thoughts of the traditions my family had, I stood there dumbfounded.

I ran down the stairs and got in line. Little did I know, this whole weddding was going to be filmed and I was going to be a flower girl. Something I dreaded doing at this weddin, but jor my uncles sake I became a flower girl.We walked out the house and walked towards the end of our village. Since the brides house was too far we then got into cars decorated with flowers. When we got there I got to throw some rose petals on people and I also got play with some silly string. That was a weird, but fun

The long days and nights riding to Bree started molding into each other so I didn’t have the best idea about how long it has been. I looked up at the stormy night sky dark with clouds filled with rain and thunder that blocked out the light from the stars and the moon. Lightning could be seen in the distance zapping at the ground. I made my horse go faster so we could get to Bree sooner.…

My parents are from Ghana, but I was born in America; people refer to me as “Americanized.” Other than being able to speak the language, Twi, I have never really been into the Ghanian traditions or any of their cultural rituals that are practiced. A couple of weeks ago, my cousin got married, and, in Ghanian culture, we have what is called a “traditional wedding.” The traditional wedding is completely different from the typical weddings that we are accustomed to. I actually did not plan on attending the wedding ceremony, but, after doing some thinking, I realized that this would be a good idea to go and learn more about my culture and also that this would be a good topic to write about for my experience essay.…
