It was an bright hot day I was laying on the couch sighing heavily. I was waiting for my mom to get home from work. It was summer and like most summers I was doing nothing. After all detasseling had come and gone by then. It felt like a sauna anywhere in the house but the livingroom. I laid there sweating thinking “What is taking so long”. I looked at the clock on the stove it said 3:45 I sied heavily. All of a sudden I hear a car door I turn my head towards the two big windows that were open to let in the breeze. It was my mom coming to the door. I jumped off the couch reaching the door in seconds. I opened the door excitedly taking her lunch bag from her like I had done on occasions. She shook her head at me asking “Why are you in …show more content…
When we got there it was an tannish white building it looked very rugged from the ripped screens in the windows to the door that was slightly bent. We grabbed our bags from the trunk of Mike 's silver dodge avenger. We entered the dark lit house it was fairly large on the inside. We went into the livingroom and sat our bags down discussing were we would sleep later on that night. The house smelt like a mix between smoke and air freshener. The house had a mellow feeling to it it felt kind of homish. The next morning I woke up still drowsy stretching and looking around at who was up. Eric and his dad weren’t there but walked in a few moments later with a bag that contained dollar packs of donuts. Andrew came into the house about 30 minutes before we had to leave for the church. We all grabbed a pack of donuts from the bag. I grabbed the powdered sugar ones. I always enjoyed the smell of the sweet powder and the taste of it on fried round bread.at about 11:30 am we climbed in to the not so good looking van outside and headed up over to the church. We had our white …show more content…
I was sitting in the living room on the dark brown fluffed cushions of the couch. I was playing on my new top line smart phone that I had gotten a week before. It was about 3:30 and I had gotten home from another dreaded day at school. I got up think “I should get something for a snack”. I headed into my small kitchen it was kind of cold I guess you could say. The kitchen had a wrap around counter well half of one anyway. The sink was scratched up as normal and had only a few dishes which was kind of odd. I strolled over to the fridge and opened it observing what we had. I heard a car door close and practically slammed the fridge door closed. I walked into the living room and saw my dad getting out his silver Dodge avenger. He came inside and as he entered I asked him “how was your day?”. He responded with “well same as usual”. Later on that afternoon… It had stopped raining by now and my mom was home now. She was sitting in her chair and reading a magazine. I was playing on my phone again playing clash of clans invested in the game deeply. My dad said “I have something I want to ask you about.” I responded “ok”. He continued “I’ve talked to your mom about this and I think it’s time I ask you. How would you like to be adopted by me?” I sat there stunned from his question I responded with “um… Yea”. He continued and then asked “would you want to change your last name to cash as well?” I was even more
