Remember. Oh, remember the family vacations of the past where the kinfolk waits in a long line for the next tour of yet another cathedral. The sun is torrid, and the air is stagnant. Add to that, one of the other line dwellers is emitting a stench that is akin to a livestock cesspool. “Let’s go home!” screams the nine-year-old. Onlookers whisper and throw “dagger glances” at the tribe. An energetic way to mix family time together with an added bonus of education, this vacation is turning into a “Frightmare.” Consequently, the parents frustratingly ask, “Why did we elect for a vacation in one of the most popular places in the world?” Of course, it’s not easy to admit that a place not visited by many tourists might just be the ticket. Now, recall the joy of the Pyrenees and the peacefully inviting atmosphere. A true diamond in the rough, the high peaks and gently sloping hills and meadows await. Imagine hiking through the mountainside and the strolling through the little villages. Equally important, the youngsters have much more freedom to roam, explore and learn about nature. Call to mind now, the Pyrenees and the well-known events associated with them. Wouldn’t it be fun to witness the “Running of the Bulls” and the “Tour De France”?
