Personal Narrative: A Friday Night Of Football

Improved Essays
A friday night football game, the air is smoky from the cheers of the fans. The defense sets up like a brick wall. Jake is looking for someone to get open. His eyes were looking at the uprights. The wall crumbles as the linebacker 98 jumps over the line wrapping around Jake launching him to the ground like a sack of potatoes with a thud. He points at Jake and scream’s, “Whoo! Not in my house!” The buzzer screams… now it’s half time.

A great day for football; damp so the cleats stick, sunny so I can clearly see the ball in the air, and the perfect temperature...not too hot, not too cold! The coin just got flipped and we are receiving the ball. I just sat down on the bleachers and it felt like a winter blowing on my bare butt, it was cold.

It’s 1st down on the 40 yard line. Just then I spot my brother Jake, the quarterback, on the field. I am filled with pride. “Hiked” Jack screams. My brother threw the longest pass I have ever seen him throw a ball. It was 60 yards for a touchdown! Everyone was so loud cheering it sounded like a high pitched boat horn mixed with like little girl screams. The ball floated through the uprights, we were up 7 to nothing. The first two minutes of the game, it felt like they went faster than a jet screaming through the air. They lined up like eleven warriors ready to fight. The kicker, number two, kicks the ball off and it’s off gliding in the air like a kit. He waves his hand, down on the 35 yard
