Improved Essays
It was a bright sunny day outside my office in the World Trade Center. Getting my work done glancing at stock writing reports, you know the usual. The idea of a narrative is to tell a story, the events occurring on the day of September 11, 2001 will provide an opportunity to relay my feelings, moving beyond the initial pure and basic anger at those responsible for such a desperate act. The image shows two emergency responders in the cloud of debris left by the collapse of the Trade Centers and what drew me to this picture is what they must have been talking about. The questions and issues I initially considered included: the loss of life; the tremendous devastation; and are there more survivors, where these possibilities could only be confirmed by talking to the individuals in the picture. Instead, I decided that the picture will be used as a metaphor to relay my awareness of the incident,…

Today was a day that I will never be able to get out of my memory, no matter how hard I try. It will always come back one way or another. I am not happy with what I saw but as a P.F.C. in the U.S. Army, I am supposed to be trained to have a thick brain with these types of environments. Even after witnessing all the horrors in the trenches of WW1, we were all in a huge state of shock. The things that were done to these people are so inhumane that it took a while for most of us to process what was going on and what had happened to these innocent people.…
