Personal Narrative: A Day At The Office

Improved Essays
I’m so sick of sitting in my bubblegum-butt colored living room. It seemed like an awesome decision at the time to paint the hideously textured box I live in for the sake of my “totally unique blogging atmosphere.” Jokes, Melanie, you got jokes. It was a great idea at least until I became a super uninspired shut in, who’s seen two Christmas, and three Halloween specials of The Office in the same week. I need to get out of here. The smell of warm vanilla has left me completely “nose blind,” as the febreeze man would call it. I sit here every day, with warm hands from peppermint tea, and a cold heart from Jacob Pusheen. His jawline looks like it could cut glass. How could I be expected to have a normal human interaction in this situation? “Yeah, actually, I live about ten minutes from here, but I’m not really looking for anything like that tonight.” Oh, god. He thinks I’m a prostitute, I’m pretty sure. I’m not totally sure, but I’m like one hundred thousand percent sure. “I’m not a hooker.” That was one doozy of a line. I think we’re off to a great start. His laugh is deep and booming and his sea foam green eyes that light up along with it. I would pay like forty bucks to have green eyes. “I didn’t think you were any kind of lady of the night.” I can see that he has some tattoos. I see a mermaid, and a pirate ship. It’s a swashbuckling scene on his forearm, I’m sure. I’m no stranger to rejection, and I assume that after my pitiful display of social skills, and bags under my eyes that could carry a week’s worth of luggage, that I should be on my way out. I do not belong in a place like this, speaking to a man with looks like these. I’m hoping that I can wiggle my way away from the table without notice. “Where are you headed?” He’s actually asking? “Oh, I’m just gonna head out. I have a really important

Ponyboy was really the first person I could express my opinions to and the first person I could really talk to about how I feel about this stupid social division we have to go by. Even though he doesn’t really understand how we Socs have problems too, I can see that he at least sort of understands- not completely, but just a little… Knowing that he sort of understands is a mixed feeling of relief and just a bit of an absurd feeling as well, I mean, a Soc and a greaser actually having a nice conversation.. I didn’t expect him to actually understand at all, but I also didn’t expect him to be completely ignorant about it either. “Cherry, look what’s coming,” Marcia quickly addressed. I watched the blue Mustang as it was coming down the street.…

The Cubicle: A Modernization of “A&P”-Written in subjective narrative I look out the small window into the parking lot to see three girls wearing a causal garb, I notice they all have hands free segways something I thought I would only see on the internet. As they roll closer to the office I see my boss, he looks to be upset, he is the type of guy if you see him on the street you envy but if you meet him he is someone you feel for.…

The day my man’s trial came around I was very depressed, because I would be losing him today. He would either be married off to a lying pig or he would be killed by a tiger. Over the past weeks I have had been so sad and I had pleaded with my father, to let him go, but he was adamant, that my man had betrayed him. I had been listening to my father's conversations, because I had to know what door the tiger would be at. I myself was in a conundrum because I knew he would ask me for help.…

I had swam into the hidden undersea cave that contained my human clothing. Last evening I’d had a vision; I would find my lifemate in the area above the sea caves. I needed to find her as my vision of the woman, was too strong to disregard. She’d been a well-built sturdy young Scot lass with sparkling green eyes and long dark auburn hair which flows to her waist. I had seen her in my dream, dancing at the local Highland Gathering.…

The muggy evening Texas air brushes my dress as I coolly stood up at an intersection near College Vista. A couple of pedestrians oftentimes surveyed me suspiciously, I was fine with that until this one dude invited me to come with him due to the fact that he thought I was a street prostitute. But all is good, thanks to Abby’s trusty Taser Gun – it seems to me that he won’t exasperate me ever again. As agreed upon, Jake pulls up his car along the street at exactly 7:30.…

You don’t know what you say.” “I am only a peasant by position, not by nature.” – Hardy, “Tess of the d’Urbervilles” Not just a daring woman, but as a strong, pure and unique individual with her own complexity, Tess stands tall against the constraints which encompasses contemporary people, culture, and society in the story. The quotation depicts the moment, which can be truly awful to someone who is insulted by the other with her social status that she does not even have options to choose but options given by the society.…
