Personal Narrative: A Day At The Golf Club

My day had started out with the immediate dread and realization of golf practice later that evening. I was all signed up and “ready to go”. But, if you were to ask me, I had no interest in golf, much less to be a part of a golf club. So, in order to take my mind off things I decided that I was going to ride my bike to my friend’s house. I asked my mother if I could go, and she said "no". It all went downhill from there, literally.
At this point in my life, I wouldn't take no for an answer. I begged and begged until finally she changed her mind. I immediately jumped on my bike and headed up the steep hill to my friend’s house. I maneuvered my way up the hill, avoiding as many pot-holes as possible, until after what had seemed like hours, I finally reached the top. I greeted my friend and we began to talk. After about five minutes, we decided that we would bike into town for a morning snack. We then hopped on our bikes and started for the hill.

There was something about the speed I could obtain, and the wind pressing against my face that always had me coming back for more. On this particular day, I was hungry for excitement. I began down the steep hill with my friend trailing slowly behind me, and the daring determination to reach my fastest speed. I flew past the broken-up asphalt that I had seen earlier that morning. Before I knew it, my eyes were locked on something straight ahead of me. It was a large drain hole with two circular bars sticking straight up out of it. For some reason, I had decided that I was going to jump over these bars with my bike. I came closer and closer, until eventually I could hear the faint yelling of my friend’s voice behind

The experience that I went through and that I would like to share was when I played golf in the beginning of the year. Playing golf took up basically all of my time because I played it 5-7 days a week between practicing with the school team or practicing with my golf instructor/coach.…
