It was a scorching summer day at Dierks High School. The weather was sublime and and the birds were chirping. This was the most supreme day of the summer, and the day that beat all others in school. This day at school was filled with excitement, and most of all joy. I was just arriving at school on the second day of the seventh grade, and all of the sudden I noticed that I was wearing my favorite outfit. So, the day had already gotten off to a substantial start. I was off to my first class, and as soon as I had entered the classroom I heard Coach Bennett say that we would be watching a movie today. I was ecstatic and exhilarated. Once the movie was over, Coach Bennett announced that we could play on our phones until the class period was over. Once the bell rang, we all hopped up from our seats and strolled to the next class. Once we had gotten to math class, Coach Bissell announced that we would also be watching a movie today. This was the most outstanding day ever.
Although it was only third period, it felt like it was time to go home. As I entered P.E., I smelled something revolting, and I looked down and knew exactly what it was, it was a particularly tattered shirt. And it smelled terrible. I put the shirt in the locker room and somebody picked it up and put it on, they told me it was theirs

After lunch was over, we were off to science. Science was the best class yet, we got to paint our planets we had chosen the day before. This was the most fun we’d had all day. This day couldn’t have gotten any better, but it did. The next class was Family And Consumer Sciences, and we got to make cookies. Most of us just ate the cookie dough, but the cookies were amazing. Once we had finished making the cookies, we got to eat candy and watch a movie. As soon as the bell rung, we all sprinted out of the classroom. It was finally the last class of the day, and we got to play games and listen to

I reached, with trembling hands, into the extra suitcase. Withdrawing a book, I took out my favorite straw. I quickly ripped into the book, not worrying about the ink that spilled from my lips or the idea of one of my roommates walking in and seeing me. When I finished draining the book of all the appetizing ink, I threw the book back into the suitcase and wiped the dripping ink from my mouth. I turned around just in time to see another boy walk into the room.…

It was a normal Tuesday at good ol’ Freeburg Community High School. Our rambunctious lunch group sat around the table to enjoy the lunch of the day, chili. Now you see, I had brought my lunch, but I wasn’t allowing that stop me from enjoying a steaming bowl of chili. My bowl of chili warmed my hands, heart, stomach, my esophagus when it was occasionally too hot, and eventually my lap. Between all of the jokes and laughter I hadn’t noticed that my hands were shaking a tad more than normal; if I had noticed, I would have done the smart thing and set my bowl down rather than hold it.…

I woke with a start at the obnoxious noise coming from my alarm. It was 9:00 a.m. on a Thursday, in the middle of the summer. I then ate a bowl of cocoa puffs and went back upstairs to prepare myself for the day.…
