Personal Narrative: A Country Concert

Decent Essays
One late night I was out with my friends at a country concert. It was as loud as 100 fireworks going off at the same time. Everyone there was around my friends and I ages. It smelled like smoke because of the fire one of the singers had to play in the background for his song. It was in a grassy and long field with a big circle stadium in the middle so the singers could walk all around. The people who sang were random people who sounded really good. Most of the people were girls and it was a little awkward for me and my friends. Around the grassy plain, there were trees miles long and I thought That this is a great spot to have a concert so nobody doesn't get bothered by the noise or the lights swirling around the crowds. We were going to hear them sing, to us, and it was amazing. When you think about seeing someone in concert you think about someone you have been dying to see. The night before we left for Shakopee, I studied the bands, what kind of music they played and what they sounded like. Very few of them became favorites, as I am very picky the kind of music I listen to. I was scared because I was still fairly new to this, but by the end of the night I wasn’t scared…

The group of friends standing right in front of us jumped and sang every word of the songs being sung. We were only 30 seconds into the first song he sang, there was no one in the crowd in sight just standing there. Days before, I remember counting down for the day to approach. Waiting for that day filled with country music, sunshine, cowboy boots, and hats. It was the stereotypical perfect day, i've been waited for this the entire summer, ever since we heard of it on Wild Country 99.…

The thing about running is that you hate it until it’s over, at least for me that’s true. Personally, I like running, and it gives me a chance to get out and work towards something. All throughout high school, I’ve run track, and for two years I ran cross-country, both are great sports. The two years I ran cross-country made me wish I ran all four years. If you’re part of more than one sport, it’s natural to choose a favorite.…

During the night of the North High School choir concert we surely not ready half of us were shaking and the rest were trying not to forget the lyrics of the 5 songs but as i am sending this in right know it has been a week since the concert but in my perspective it was great in some moments and in others it felt awkward you know when you mess up in something and hoping nobody saw your mess up but you feel that someone saw you get that weird stare like everyone is on the moon and began to frustrate and feel like you messed up and forgot the lyrics. Anyways forget all that before we went to the auditorium we were getting ready putting on our ties, necklaces, and vest some people forgot about wearing black socks some forgot to wear black tights in this situation the guys had to wear all black only the tie should be purple and the women the same but they wore pearls and earrings but beside that the clothes/ dress had to be black. Different moments of our lives change us and shape us into the man or woman whom one day we will become. One moment that changed me was when I got my first instrument. Getting my first instrument was exciting, yet challenging at the same time. When I told my mom that I wanted to start playing music, I didn’t realize how hard it can truly be. I didn’t think of how much patience and time I would need to put into my practicing.…

Why I Sing Chaeley Winkler I cannot remember a time when I wasn’t singing. Of course, I know there was time before I could speak or burble as infants do, so there must have existed a certain silence before sound, however the mere thought of being so silent—unable to reach out with voice or touch—disturbs me to no end. But these thoughts of a time before sound hadn’t quite crossed my mind until I began to question the finer, tinier oddities in my life. These questions emerged at around the age of seven, before they had manifested as inner thoughts.…

For my interview, I decided to interview my middle school band director, Mr.Woo, (George Woo). I decided to interview him because, as a teacher, he changed my life with music and taught me all about it. He molded me into who I am today as I continue music in high school and I appreciate him in many ways. Along with that, he is also in the career path that I might decide to follow in the future which is a teacher, and from what I’ve learned from him, I thought that he could once again teach me about something other than music.…
