It’s very strange how one experience or choice you make in your life can change the rest of your life that follows that event, would you then in turn change these decisions you made. Such as your what if your mom conceived you not on the knowing basis. What if everyone was telling her not to because she was to be a single mom and that’s not a world a child should be born into, but then what if she challenged this belief that she grew up with. My experience with the Food Intake Assignment has been an eye opening one. The first change I could make in my diet is to lower the amount of sodium I intake. For instance, if I continue to overdose on sodium I’m at risk for cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and high blood pressure. Vitamin A is also something that needs to be implemented into my diet more.…

Moving boxes up and down three flights of stairs, rearranging the whole kitchen, dusting every inch of the basement, setting up storage, setting up the buffet; today had been an at home workout. My mom and I had been cleaning our house all day long, although I still felt full of energy. Although my mouth was still watering at the thought of a veggie burger loaded with avocado, sautéed onions, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, on a toasted hamburg roll after we finished. My mom on the other hand was cranky, annoyed, agitated, and exhausted from cleaning; from just dusting the oak buffet in the dinning room to cleaning the whole house like today my mom easily would become tired after just five minutes of cleaning, then complain the rest…

The first thing I notice about my nutrients report is that my calories consumed are below my target calories consumed. I think this is good for me to maintain my weight since I have not been working out the last week or so. Although I’m sure when I get back into running and lifting my calories will increase, but then again my target calories will also increase. In addition, I realized my protein consumption is below my target, not by much but it is under the recommended daily consumption. I’m sure I could have put a little bit more peanut butter on my sandwich at lunch if I knew I was going to be under for my protein for the day.…

My feelings toward food have been a rollercoaster throughout this part of life. Ranging from amazing and wonderful memories to awful, dark, and traumatic memories. Some of my best and worst memories are surrounded by food and either my lack of interest in eating it or my interest and workings with it. While food may have caused me a lot of pain in life the things that my eating habits have given me such as friends, family, and people I know I can rely on have made it worth it.
